Starting with a budget of £100 I think its best to stay away from the big price players. You can make money from just looking at upcoming fixtures and buying players that will rise before they play. For example: You could buy Immobile after the Juventus game for £1.31-£1.40, he's now priced at £1.51 and could grow further. Buying and selling lower priced players will help build up your portfolio value.
I don't think there will be another stock split any time soon. The reason behind it was players were too expensive to buy. Don't forget in November, there will be a lot of very cheap players available.
Depends on their strategy ... If they keep increasing dividends then yeah prices should go through the roof. If an increase in dividends leads to increased trading as people fight for the dividends then it may be a sensible strategy for them to keep increasing.
I hold 300 Ascencio @ 1.61 - doing nicely and a potential future balon dor winner for me. One to keep and tuck away for the future, could end up leading the line for club and country and the goals he scores are all out of the top draw, just check out any of his highlight reels.
Kroos definitely hits the buzz but I can't find an entry location.
I wanted Isco @ 1.90 but money was tied up so had to let him go, is def in a nice uptrend and his playing reflects that.
(Then again I don't give a stuff about PB I look for capital growth so....)
Your considered approach makes me hate and love you in equal measure.
There have been multiple 'crashes' throughout my time on the index. Every time it's not taken long for shares to rise above what they were at pre crash. As already stated, a crash just gives you chance to grab some of the better players at a cheaper price
@iwantmore I would say looking at other attacking full backs alonso, sandro, Marcelo all around 1.20 mark so wouldn't expect him to go higher than these. There's only really Dani Alves that is much higher but he's in a strong team in a weak league.
I just feel if you're going to go for more than 20 players you might as well just buy a tracker.
Warren Buffett went big on 3 stocks in the beginning.
With small capital I prefer it to be concentrated. Some of my portfolio is yet to move. I have a few sleeping giants :D
Disagree on the tracker notion there. You could have some steaming turds in the Top 20, it's an absolute diabolical sh*tshow of a set up. I'd be very happy if they did away with them, as they just con people into thinking it's like normal trackers that are a fluid set up, rather than just the top x players at that moment.
Can you tell I don't like the trackers? Good. I'm off to start a thread.
Its all guesswork and you might be right, just don't see the room for growth. If he stays as a defender he is already priced at the top end of the defender market. As a winger, seems to be a heck of a punt that a championship full back would successfully convert to a world class winger. Fair doos if your right though - I'm on the risk averse side of things index wise.
