Why does an error occur when I go to sell a player?

I bought Everton Soares A week ago then put him up for sale . Nealy a week later he still sits in my portfolio losing value. I tried to even sell at the pink low price of £1.66 but it said " ERROR" this player doesn't have an instant sell price". So from being in a healthy position of profit I am now at the same price I bought at. What is the point of buying players if they cannot be sold?
