Lack of patience

Tonight showed the volatility of the new traders. Alcacer was getting dumped in the 1000s at the 75th minute only to score in the 93rd. There seems to be a lot of IPD chasers trying to predict scorers game by game instead of taking full advantage of the 30day hold
-
I cant understand it. If that was my approach I'd bust have a bet on alcacer to score. Of course I realize the relative pros and cons of traditional betting vs index but if your dumping 100 alcacer your paying £8 in spread + commission so for every 250 dumped theres a £20 bet on alcacer to score any time.
Betfair offers 90 minute betting, some people come here for 75 minute betting

@MickTurbo its crazy. IG alerted me of a sudden 12p drop I initially thought my tv must have a big delay and he’d been subbed off but no just people dumping all because he hadnt scored yet. Madness
-
The commission pays for our next dividend increase so I’m not complaining. It is amazing watching the ticker though, so many people have no patience.
-
Why would you even be on here though, that's what I cant understand
-
@MickTurbo yea can’t see how that betting style is profitable (long term) on here.
Just impatient users chasing the quick winning buzz rather than looking at the bigger picture I think - FI need people like that though so it is a healthy sign for the platform 👍
-
@MickTurbo was the same withe sancho then he scored then people pilled on now top dog
-
@Chris-J yeh agreed bud. Theres nowt as queer as folk I suppose
-
A lot just taking profit. I had him since 90p so sold to market at half time for just over 100%. Him scoring in the 94th min actually helped my sale I think, granted the price had dropped slightly but serves me right as I was going to do it before kick off.
Now if everyone else could sell so his price drops so I can get back on him that'd be great
-
This was my first PB day of the new season without a winner but just missing out on all 3 positions makes it that bit more annoying
-
Don't think it's all panic selling personally, he's seen a big rise over the last 2 weeks, it could be short term traders looking to take their profit and invest elsewhere
-
@Hearthatsound seemed like a strange time to do it though. Why IS during the game when anything could still happen just stick them in the sell queue
-
@Black-wolf Maybe just traders wanting instant cash to reinvest rather than wait for market sell?
-
@Black-wolf I don't think it's a lack of patience at all.
There would have been plenty of holders of Alcacer sat on a big profit after his rise in the past 2 weeks who would have been willing to hold for a single game day chance of PB. Once it was clear he wouldn't win PB and he wasn't going to shoot up further they were happy to take those profits.
He's still massively up in the 2 week period and a drop was fair when he didn't win PB on a single game day at that price.
-
@Black-wolf sanchos been unlucky, 2 games 2 goals 2 assists 2 2nd place midfielders. Luckily for me I'm at least still in my IPD window
-
@MickTurbo Sancho looking like this season's Havertz with all these 2nd places. He should be a forward really so hopefully gets a positional change at some point!
-
Yeh hopefully @janner73 buy he'll have his day.
There'll be media as the season wears on as well
-
Sancho will have to score and assist multiple times to ever win PB, even though his scores look high compared to last season. Near 300 is the going rate imo especially on a double or triple.
-
@Tom77 True but that applies to all midfielders on a double or triple day. Last weekend De Bruyne won the double with 2 assists, Sabitzer won the double with a goal and 3 assists.
I don't think any midfielder will win a double or treble day this season without multiple goals/assists so it's not a unique situation for Sancho.
