Van de Beek

Thoughts on VDB? Been relinked with United and Real Madrid and Ajax have said they’ll let him go for the right price but no price movement yet. Where do people think his price would end if he went united? And same for Madrid?
-
Newcastle. 👍
-
£3.50 ish United, £3 Madrid. I don’t think he should be that expensive but hype/excitement can be a powerful thing
-
@Ericali would love to see it
-
-
@Dabi10 could be a PB beast at the right club. Not sure Newcastle are that club. Madrid possibly or United for MB.
-
@Dabi10 he has had a good rise in the last few months, it's been clear for months he would end up leaving I got on about £2.00, I got out a few weeks ago for a nice profit. My thinking was I couldnt realistically see Man utd or Real needing him with the depth they both have in midfield. I'm sure he will go somewhere but was happy to lock in the profit.
-
He won't be leaving a Champions League club to be involved in relegation battles. No disrespect to NFC
-
@JB Newcastle could be the new Manchester City if the takeover comes off.
I don't think they will be involved in relegation battles.
-
Got on at £1.80, every time I see him play I'm more and more convinced about his ability. Still so cheap in my opinion, don't think he has really hit the "mainstream" yet and still relatively hidden. So much to come from him.
-
@Ericali Its not like you click your fingers and all of a sudden you're in the top 4. City didn't win the league overnight.
Rebuilding takes time and Newcastle won't even break into Eurore in the next 3 years. How do you expect to attract top players without European football
-
It’s a myth that players move for European football. I’d say only 20% of players give a shit about that.
The other 80% move for cold hard cash. If the takeover goes through Newcastle will have that in abundance.
-

Simple answer =💰💰💰💰
-
@JonesyFI-WH Not disputing that but I'm sure other top clubs can match what Newcastle has to offer and having the option would you rather play for mid table football or champions league football
-
I think Newcastle’s new owners have the ability to blow every club out of the water money wise.
I always think that the Man City owners are loaded. The Newcastle guys have over 10 times the wealth of them! Over 10 times!!! That is insane wealth.
As I said it depends how much these players are driven by money. Real Madrid and Liverpool could come in and offer him £200k a week. Newcastle could probably offer £400k without batting an eyelid. If Van de Beek wants instant success in purely football terms and he wants to play for a prestigious club then it’s a no brainer. But the pull of £400k can’t help but turn your head.
-
Could be wrong but wasn't Financial Fair Play introduced to prevent this exact thing
-
It only takes one or two to begin the revolution and a manager.
Imagine Steve Bruce managing world class players....
FFP is not strict enough to prevent this sort of thing happening, just makes it take slightly longer.
Going to be relaxed because of Coronavirus too.
-
@JB apparently FFP is being relaxed next year due to COVID19. It could have a knock on effect in the future though. Still probably won’t stop the mega rich clubs finding loopholes!
-
@NorthBankGooner Not strict enough? Hasn't city been banned from European football.
I can see it being more strict actually due to CV in order to stop the richer clubs from bullying everyone else
-
@JB
I hope you're right but I highly doubt that will be the case.
The City thing has not been confirmed yet, I can see them getting out of it.
