Will Schick's PB scores improve ?

  • Recently hopped on Patrik Schick, as I think he's extremely undervalued. Playing in a Leipzig team with Nkunku, Rashica, Forsberg etc - and if Werner leaves...you've got a starting striker for £1.59.

He's young enough, has Czech Republic euro involvement, CL action and scored 7 goals this season. Would Werner leaving benefit his PB scores at all? His top 5 barely touch 200, implying he'll never win divs in his state.

Feel like the combination of Werner leaving (so less competition at forward), the possibility of rashica joining (another midfielder that can supply him) and his general improvement will lead to better pb scores in the future

  • The problem with many strikers is that they don't get involved in the game enough to score massive scores and win PB and he falls into that category

He might be a quality player but that does not mean he is a good FI investment

  • @sambhavc Rashica has agreed a deal so that's good

  • @JB I'd say he's a good cap app hold. I don't own more than 100 of any player, and the majority are CA orientated. Compared to Gerard Moreno, who has 7 PB wins and 5 200+ PB scores.

  • @NewUser573360 I'd say hes a good IPD player but hes ceiling is pretty low if you ask me but feel free to disagree of course

  • @NewUser573360 all your post has done is make me think Gerard Moreno should swap prices with Schick?

  • @JB I hold a few striker under £1.60 - and I can't think of many decent alternatives that play for an attractive team, under 25, have CL and talisman for Euros. Particularly in the Bundesliga, where only Haaland (£7) and Sancho (£13) have more goals than him and are younger. Schick has one of the best conversion rates in the Bundesliga too (34%)

  • @NewUser573360 I'll give you one off the top of my head

    Embolo

Cheaper, younger, better PB stats, CL, Euros...

Good question. I was having a similar discussion with @Hound a couple of weeks ago about Schick. He got in early so has already made decent CA on him but, like may other young strikers, Schick seems to suffer from very mediocre PB scores. I have the same problem with Dolberg. He's had a decent season at Nice. He's only 22, will likely feature more with Denmark now that the Euros have been pushed back a year and he'll also be playing European football next year with Nice so I see value in him, BUT his PB scores are rubbish.

Anyway, back to Schick. Worth remembering that (I believe) he is still contracted to Roma and, despite promising noises, he has yet to agree a permanent move to RBL. If he does sign, and Werner does go, then every chance his PB scores improve as he'll likely be more involved in general play. However, there is always a danger that RBL spend some of the Werner cash on another out and out striker. Yes, some cash is already being spent on Rashica and he'll be a good addition but he's not a goalscorer like Werner.

  • I wonder if Rachica is a direct replacement for Werner will he be reclassified as a forward in the future 🤔

  • Schick’s PB scores we’re improving in the couple months before suspension as he was given a more prominent role after his injury and started scoring in most games. He’s a real talent IMO which will be proven if he stays fit and will be Czech Republic’s main man up front in the Euros.

Hi mate, yeah good chat the other week, made a bit more on Schick since we last spoke.

I did get in early but will be holding for the foreseeable, as I said a few weeks ago Werner leaving will be good for Schick as he will be the main striker in an exciting RBL team (let's assume he does sign permanently as being reported).

With regards to PB scores, obviously I have been keeping an eye on all RBL games since I hold 1000 futures and have done for a good while now. Yes he's not a a great PB player but if you look at his matches, he was coming back from injury so was only playing 60 odd minutes a match initially, which impacted his PB ceiling.

Then when he was fit and playing the majority of minutes, he would only score one goal, I was begging him to get a second in some matches as I firmly believe his PB score would be in the mix with a brace. RBL are exciting and score goals so I don't think it is a stretch to see him bagging a couple in a match, especially with Werner out of the way.

Watching RBL matches, he has something about him and I really like him as a player, still can't help thinking £1.59 is a snip compared to others at that price range!

  • Just seen Schick I can only assume you have bought him blind? He's a carthorse who specialises in missing open goals ,the comparisons with Messi are laughable ,he compares more with Peter Crouch then Messi, too mush hype in the Bundesliga and a poor quality .

  • That miss at the end was a bit of a shocker and he makes an habit of it as well :/
