IS’ing

  • The IS price is an average of the top 300 shares that have been bid for. And the highest bid gets matched with the seller.
Am I right in thinking anyone bidding at or below the IS price will never get matched as there is always be a higher bid?

  • Im guessing this is something to do with the price movement you have to tick
so if you put a bid in which is less than the IS (or becomes less than the IS) by accepting the price movement you become eligible for the trade once that player appears in the sell queue at your price.

i could be totally wrong as im still trying to get my heed around it all.

  • If your bid is below the current IS price then you will have to wait for the higher bids to be matched. You would then be at the front of the queue until another bid greater than yours comes in.
