No bids currently in on Ighalo...highest market price placer with no ‘IS’ option?
-
Surprised to see this even with the news. You guys seen other similar situations out there to date?
-
@wolves86
Player not placer...not sure how to edit title of thread?
-
Swept up as many as my free cash would allow at 99p earlier, so I've done my bit, albeit ME has managed to lose 176 between matching & my portfolio!.
Lots of great options with him, stays at Utd, or EPL, or another PB team, picks up MB on the back of whatever happens. Really see a China return as the least likely option, so buying on the panic sell off seems to make sense. Already returned 43p in MB since Jan iirc so 99p looks cheap IMO.
-
Will be a 31 year old striker, seeming most likely not at man united, who will be worse off for PB in a worse side, MB hell be a million times worse off. No chance he’s worth over a quid IMO at anyone but United
-
I sold on the matching engine at around £1.10 - not worth the risk IMO. A poor trade from me as I bought him around £2 - but thankfully not that many and he did at least produce a few divs.
-
His contract is up in 2021 so for long term holders he might return some divs and then be back in a league in 18 months.
Was always a big gamble though.
-
Was convinced he'd stay given Man Utd need Champions League and wouldn't risk not having the squad depth but as soon as his club in China asked for £20m it was always in doubt. Fortunately for me sold most over £2 but my port has taken a bit of hit in the last 24 hours selling off the remainder as looking very unlikely he'll stay now
How does it work now if there are consistently no bids? You just can't sell the player? His price isn't really dropping much either which is bizarre as those buying at 99p will show a big profit in their port
-
@wolves86 even a minimum bid of 99p for a 31 year old striker looking likely to head back to China is too expensive for me when you consider Banega who was a PB giant dropped to about 60p odd when he was linked to China.
If he does stay you may win a few MB along the way but im not sure how much his age will hold back cap app and selling opportunities
-
@Black-wolf I think the big mistake people are making is thinking he’s a MB hold at another club, he has only won MB cause he’s at United. An Ighalo at Newcastle/Italy other leagues will have minimal if any MB interest

This is great news. 👍
I've spent the last 2 days lowering my average buy price from £1.99 to £1.52. I was sat in the "blue" now I'm back in the "green" 😎
It means any buys will likely have to be at full price.
Shares in circulation for this guy total £2.21 on 15th march. Instant sell was disabled on 12th march - so those shares are merely changing hands.
I've been getting on between £1 & £1.07, more than a 50% discount 😎👍

Oh dear i wouldnt like to be in your situation right now. Even of you are getting him at half your buy price you could be left with a player that is worth nothing in a feew weeks.
I hope it works out for anyone holding or topping up.
-
@Black-wolf he can't be worth nothing. It's impossible.
Unless he dies or retires.
The shares in circulation are worth £2.21.
Even if he's in China (which he won't be, his agent spoke less than 24 hours ago saying they want to stay in Europe regardless) so even if it's not Manchester United he will still likely be in a PB league.
Dead cert for some media this week too. 👍
Was loving buying him "cheap"
-
@Ericali if the chinese team dont want to sell him he is worth nothing as any player is only worth what someone is willing to pay if he goes back to China whose going to buy him on FI

But the Chinese team are quite willing sell him for £20m & the player & agent both want to go.
It's Manchester United refusing to pay the fee.
Someone will. I'm positively certain of it.
-
@Ericali how much do you think he’s worth at a team that isn’t United?
-
Same about to happen to Zlatan... Done achilles apparently. Just snapped up some Leao...

Not like Woodward to haggle over a fee, surely? Quite possible he ends up at Utd yet, either Man or New would do but obviously prefer him to not move from Manchester. Either way lots of media interest, plenty of stories following the twists & turns, could result in some more MB payouts?
Looks set to one of the best or worst trades in FI history, time to pick a side?

Well £2.21 ultimately because that's the shares that are in circulation.
Any "new" buys just push the price higher.
Obviously that's his peak price, but he can't go back to being at 35p player now - it's too late.

Exactly ☝️
Didn't the same thing happen to Bruno. Couldn't get the deal done for months, then all of a sudden Barcelona's name was mentioned & it was completed as fast as lightning! 😂
It's all posturing.
Will be among the media places from now until weekend.

Funny, I seen to recall a discussion a couple of months back where you said it was a dead cert transfer and there would be no problems with paying the fee......
