Renewing Shares

In the academy it says that the in - play 30 day dividends can be renewed however I can't find any information how this can be done. Asking reddit the only work around is to sell the shares and re-buy them.
Why not have a "renew shares" button that charges the 2% (or other fair value) to renew the share rather than go through the hassle of buying and selling!
