@ChazFI123 totally, there's no way a buying club would let him announce it on his own social media first. More likely he's invested in a lower league club, bought a new set of golf clubs, or doing an advertising spot for club biscuits.

@Doug-s kinda, but an unrealistic one. Contract until 2026 and £130000000 buyout clause or something along those lines. If he was coming to United, he would be on their social media doing a drum solo in the centre circle for all to see.

I can't think of any transfer in recent memory where the player has been allowed to announced a move before either of the clubs involved. It would effect club share prices etc etc. Atleti are still in the Champions League. Surely any announcement of losing one of their star players would damage their future chances.
This very much sounds like a ruse and he is probably launching an Esports club, or nightclub, or bird watching club, and using the recent transfer speculation as a means of self promotion.
