On the matrix I do despair sometimes when hat trick hero's lose out to 'Crossing Machines'. Just doesn't seem a very footballing outcome.

I'm happy enough with the matrix, yeah a few things could be tweaked, but I'm not particularly bothered either way.
My point has always been that I was concerned that the matrix could be changed. I fully expected it to happen with very little notice.
A potential matrix change was always factored into a risk assessment of my portfolio.
For the record, after the q&a and the recent podcast, I don't expect them to change the matrix this season and hope they focus solely on fixing the media situation.
Still doesn't mean I'm gonna buy Trent!! 🤣🙈

@Dalian-Smith what if the hatrick hero is just tap ins from beautiful crosses after a winger/wingback slalems past defenders and whips it in?
Goalscorers have their own dividend (for now) in ipds... And that props up their value as people will always buy goalscorers.
There's so many intangbles (immeasurable?) like the quality of a goal or who had the most input to a goal that you cannot capture in a scoring matrix. Likewise with defenders... We know Vvd has been the standout for last couple seasons...but its his all round demeanour, positioning, leadership, composure.... Big game/big moment mentality. You can watch football for a year and those qualities become evident.... Much harder to find a set of statistics on a match by match basis to back it up. Any matrix to suit vvd will find someone like a Lewis dunk who may be better... Or Ben mee etc...if Ben mee was better than TAA people would be up in arms etc.
I marked it 5/10 but as many of us have said before... Don't really care what the matrix is... As soon as its in play it will favour some more than others and a whole new bunch of seeming anomalies will be cream of the crop and people will not like it anymore than what we previously had.

At the end of the day, FI is a game you can win money on. There are many ways and strategies you can adopt but most will rely on the scoring matrixes of both media and performance.
Now, the PB side of this "game" tries really hard to reflect what happens on the pitch as close as possible. It's not too far off, most of the time.
The latest set of "rules" have been in place for 10 months and there isn't a single person who has left football index because they aren't a 100% accurate representation of on the pitch action.The problem is, it's as though half the traders on here think they are also part of the R&D team employed by FI. To put it bluntly, shut the fuck up and just play the game in front of you!
There was "not much call" for a matrix review in December but, as Adam alluded to in the podcast, a handful of very vocal traders wanted it changed. So he caved and announced a "review" in the q&a to appease these whingers. It now looks unlikely that it won't happen but this is the problem....Football Index don't understand their own product well enough! If they did, they wouldn't be sending out surveys or being bullied by big accounts on Twitter to have a look at changing the rules OF THEIR OWN GAME!
People are not leaving because media is predictable (obviously) or crosses are too generously rewarded - they are leaving for a PLETHORA of other reasons. Keeping the game rules fixed is absolutely imperative from here on in. Once media is tweaked, that's it.
Once PB is tweaked (expect that in 2021) that's it.
Leave both systems alone for a long time.
This is the most important thing FI need to do in my opinion. It will allow them to focus on all the other areas that genuinely DO need tweaking! (Too many to list)
