Why does this kind of controversy only seem to happen in the Premier League? I must have watched 15-20 Bundesliga games since it returned and can’t remember a single serious controversy!

That could prove a costly mistake for European football perhaps for Sheffield Utd if this game goes against them.

That was so bad. Best league in the world but worst at getting the important decisions right. Cant understand why VAR never over ruled the ref

Not watching the game but are they not using the usual goaline technology? If they are and it hasn’t been given then obviously it didn’t cross the line!

Doesn’t sound good as surely they must check the equipment is working before the game starts haha. If it’s found to be faulty after the game then it will be interesting to see what they can/can’t do.

Just seen it. Yep the technology clearly was faulty or not on! Not really sure what they can do but you have to feel for Sheff Utd.
If it was checked before the game (which I’d guess would be standard procedure) and was fine at that point then I guess it’s just awfully bad luck for Sheff Utd.

The thing is, why would he of overruled it or asked for VAR as he would’ve naturally been under the assumption that the goaline technology was working and it therefore wasn’t a goal.
Nobody to blame really if it was working but failed during the match. Just rotten luck for Sheff Utd.
