Werner's replacement?
-
Patrik Schick seems the obvious choice, but quite a few links to elsewhere.
Patson Daka from Salzburg?
-
I can see that being agreed already tbf.
-
Hasn't he got a 70 million buy out Claus though so I doubt they will pay that
-
Thought it was practically agreed that Rashica was joining.
Even more possible now with Bremen being all but relegated so only have to pay a 14m release clause for him.
-
@JonesyFI-WH haven't seen that confirmed, but I hope so.
-
@Metropolis it was reported in Bild as basically done but personal terms need to still be agreed.
Not sure how reliable Bild is though. Anyone know if its reputable? Or is it the Daily Star of Germany?! ;)
-
Rashica or Walderschmidt for me. Rashica is not really a striker like Werner, so I'd say Walderschmidt. He's already in the Germany squad having excelled at U21, almost certainly leaving Freiburg (I saw him get subbed the other night, and his relationship with his current boss looks frosty at best.)
I used to own 2500 Rashica at 62p and sold at peak pre covid, would be happy to still have him. I still have 2000 Waldy at 53p, so I am definitely hoping he is Werner's replacement!

Would love to see Daka in a PB league
-
Thought there was a few rumours about Leipzig signing the Salzburg striker that isn't Daka, not sure of his name
-
@ChazFI123 Hwang was the one mentioned most recently also linked to Wolves in jan
-
As @Sav2000 said, it was Hwang Hee-Chan. I really like him (and hold for clarity) but he is a very different sort of striker to Werner. Never stops running, great control and technique and just a pain in the arse to play against. He would do well with someone like Schick next to him.
-
On Twitter there’s a link to a German article saying Hwang Hee-Chan is the replacement lined up ahead of Daka as they want a more experienced striker.

@Metropolis manager seemed to be talking down their loan signings (Schick and Angelino) lately but maybe that was a negotiating tactic! Some suggestion that they'll look for a top class target man but saw no specific names banded about
