Transfers during the world cup

  • My Opinion on player transfers during the world cup is that unless they a big player not at the world cup/unlikely any player at the WC will move till after they are knocked out. The transfer will not affect the market that much a lot of business will be done early if not confirmed till after.

Lil trfs between middling teams will cause little to no rise and i see a lot of new players buying players just because of a player will move to any club if it happens during the world cup no Media and too cheap and not likely to affect price unless they move to a PB heavy team.

Hear to be shot at but I would be careful here, can see some people being stuck with some junk futures.

  • I'm sensing there's a lot of nervousness around the market right now which is down to the uncertainty of what happens around and after the world cup... Maybe this is effecting the footie and is why perhaps we are seeing a fall in some values? I would say as ever buy low sell high... If you feel a player is undervalued and has potential to grow in value then buy... If not then don't? Should it matter when and where and during what competition you invest? Not everybody will have a great world cup... Not everybody's value will hit rock bottom after? Jus buy based on the potential you feel that player can earn? You have a future for 3 years... Not 3 months!

  • Trust your instinct you can use this site to gamble foolishly or you can play it safe for a modest growth and every now and again get a nice bonus I'm using this like a bank account it's holiday money I'm investing and so far I'm in profit thanks to Kenedy what I've invested back

  • @dannypea hi Danny,

I was more indicating the lower end of the market not at the WC. There is a little nervousness in the market but it's been steadily growing since PB was announced other than an Adam Cole mistweet here or there. I'm going to edit my original post to make this point clear.

People are sceptical after last year and I don't blame them lots of people lost money.

My point was really about players not at the World cup players without a big Media traction such as mid-table clubs selling players to other mid-table clubs. Newcastle Brighton West Ham trfs Sochaux Montpellier Wolfsburg etc etc. During the month period, i don't see Traders buying these futures. They will be world cup and the next big rumour buying preoccupying most of there attention.

  • This site is still quiet young who knows where it will be in 1 year stick with instinct you may make one or 2 mistakes like me but this World Cup is new to everyone on here it's going to be exciting times to come I think! I've only been on here a few weeks and I got as much expirence on world cups as every one else on here

  • When Sandro Wagner moved to Bayern nobody bat an eyelid... In fact his price went down and despite his goals he's still pretty worthless on FI... Which is ironic because if Lewandowski goes this summer (a possibility) Wagner will probaly (short term) replace him... My point... Does anyone care if Newcastle sign another average French player from a mid table Ligue 1 club? Does anyone care when Brighton raid the Spanish second division for another unknown? Probably not... As Griezmann or Pogba are much bigger news.. But It's all about timing... If the market is full of transfers they'll be some that slip under the radar... If the market is quiet then you might get an average one that makes the news...

One thing for sure is the WC will over hype players and some will be overvalued from it but its not all negative... I see opportunities in Bale, in Alexis, in those stars that don't go as they'll hopefully be much cheaper then they are now... Those in Serie A or the young dutch players.. Like any its a time to invest and look for bargains.. The WC might cloud some folks judgement but the best thing to do as in investor is play the game and see what it brings!! Because after all neither of us can predict what will happen going forward!

  • I still think martial is good value for a long term still a classy player

  • I have a few Tony Marshall's and looked at him today for more... I really like him but Mourinho doesn't... He should leave Man Utd but i suppose to where is the question... Which might have an effect on his price? Certainly good value in him though!

  • @dannypea think your right people signing the next Wagner/Locadia need to be very careful what they are doing. You may have just given my game away with the Italian players. Have my eye on a few. Could do with this being the title comment as what i was trying to say but far more eloquently put.

Was also hoping to wait for a dip in benched players and players out of the tournament with potential upsides. PB/moves (moves unlikely i know but stranger things have happened on the index) and invest. Could be tempted at Parejo price with him at best water carrier for Spain in 2 months time. However, if Valencia go and get a penalty taker and he may lose a bit of his edge.

Always Opportunities, Ramsey could go up a little bit as well with his contract situation.
I will own some Alexis at the start of next season i will take the risk with a pre-season under his belt, he may fly even working with Mourinho. Might not be a massive holding mind.

  • Anyone notice lately that whoever the Manchester teams are linked to the players increase the most out of the current price slump in the market .
Manchester United Paul pogba , martial , rashford all linked to other clubs n price gone up .
Every players potentially linked with a transfer to either Manchester City or Utd all go up quickly
    E.g Harry maguire , Fred ,
FI index traders seems to love following them .
    Any reason ?

  • @Mazza-magic @dannypea I like him and have a biggish holding in him. Unless he joins Juve or Athletico I don't necessarily see his price dropping substantially from what it is now. Even if he stays think it will go down about 50p . He could also smash it in a different league just preferable not under Diego Simeone.

  • @NewUser126583 Simply, United are the most media loved team in the country and City are one of the worst but have best PB chances in League because of Pep

  • @toaster-poster
That makes a lot of sense . Thanks for reply mate .
When I first joined fi few months back , I invested in a few of United players and they all in the red .
Only player I made a profit is felaini

  • No worries everyone here will help. Just remember they have to be in the top 200 to be in a chance for Media...

I think Fellaini might be going to Turkey and then will be out of a top 5 league so might want to think about when you sell him as he will likely fall if this happens. If he doesnt he can rise and fall a bit like his elbows as he loves a scandal or two a season.

  • @toaster-poster sold him n took small profit

  • @toaster-poster plus he's been linked with Liverpool (ridiculous I know) and PSG and Monaco. He'll go back up again... There'll be rumours ;)

  • Pogba and martial stories will run all summer i think unless one of them is sold at the very beginning of the window.

Also bigntransfers seem to drag on for ages so I would expect a lot of media for both, Pogba mainly

  • @NewUser126583 - The English media is heavily skewed towards Man Utd. No longer just a myth but a concept backed up by dividend returns on the index! Man City are arguably the best team for PB in England, so offer both PB and MB. That said City are terrible for MB the media don't really care about them all year... but then they come alive during the windows due to the amounts of money they spend

Time and and time again till am sick of typing it I have given advice on the WC and the low end of the market which I like to think I specialise in , an am not saying this to wind people up but my profile has been taking very good stead raise every day this last month and I expect a big some when the WC cash comes flooding in.

  • @SMacFI not sure your point, but excellent keep up the profit!
My point remains if trfs happen during the world cup I think they will not incur the normal rise at the time.
