Now the dust has settled, what happens next?

  • I realise that sell prices on many players are similar to they were yesterday, but clearly there’s a large number of people shocked for differing reasons perhaps with the perceived drop in the value of their portfolios.

What’s the next steps FI will take to make sure the market now moves forward from strength to strength?

  • @TeamGB they’ve already made that step- 100% div increase. It’s a short term painful transition moving to order books, but necessary to play with the big boys. The market will now grow into this massive dividend increase over the next 12+ months.

  • @TeamGB visible depth is the next massive step which is what Nasdaq provides. This will allow us to see how many shares are listed at each price point meaning you can read whether a price is likely to rise or fall just by the volume of shares holding a price up or pinning it down. It will also allow you make better bids and offers by being able to see the demand.

At the moment we are flying blind and the most desperate traders will offer the lowest offers and the highest bids and the patient traders will just sit back and feed of them

  • @Black-Wolf any idea when we will see that, just feels like sellers and buyers are just guessing with nothing much to guide them right now!?

It's not a perceived drop, it's an actual drop.

  • @Marksandygill they said Q4 so not that long away.

  • I reckon once we get into the thick of it with the weekend games, with players scoring and assisting with the huge ipd, we will see quite a lot of volatility in a good way.

It will provide many exit points for players that people feel they are stuck with or down on. Imagine an older defender worth about 20p grabbing a goal. The price will easily reach 35p plus, offering some great returns. Even the likes of Messi getting a couple goals and an assist in a game, almost guaranteed star man, would get 58p back in divs this month. Almost a 10% return on investment straight away, not mentioning the capital appreciation that will almost certainly come with it.

Long story short, plenty to be excited about this month and onwards!!!

  • @Marco27 I'm holding Jimenez and at a huge loss! (bought at around 1.90 and he now has an IS of less than 1.50). He is a great striker but I guess without European football he is a lot less valuable, still a chance he'll move in the window but looking less likely.

Need a big game in the opening weeks so I can get rid! Those Europa IPD seem like an age ago.

  • Im not really sure, Im trying to be positive right now as its big changes etc etc, so im not going to jump the gun..... just yet.

However very little seams to have changed other than I lost massive amounts of money on some players that im scratching my head at as to why and how?

The spreads are basicly the same in terms of % they where before all this happend near enough, just some players have lost upwards of 30% of their value in a flash and the sell price is even lower...

Ill be honest this wasnt what I thought was going to happen.
I expected a decline but I expected it to be more of a small decline in everyone as everything levels out and MM help keep prices up and tighten spreads.

Im no expert but that dosnt seam to be the case here.
Trying to figure out my next move now, Im thinking top up however having 30% just vannish into thin air has kinda rattled me a little bit if im honest.
Think ill need to sleep on it.

  • In reference to the thread title, I cant speak for anybody else, but on a personal level I can say its blind panic at my end

  • A brutal £800 drop according to the mid-price port, but this is more realistic. Most of my port has been refreshed for IPDs, so onward and upward!

I'd stick my neck out on a prediction, if I had one

  • Nice to put a face to a username. I always just thought you looked like the pic.

EDIT: annnnd I've just realised...is that Paul Jewell from his leaked porno? Or am I...

EDIT EDIT: The profile pic not the one you just posted...although

  • @howsthebacon you're half right, I was on the wrong end of some Paul Jewell pent up rage. It's something I'll not forget in a hurry.

But I do look good in stockings

  • What happens next....In my case, with a port based on players who score good PB's regularly, my next move is do nothing and hopefully pick up some dividends.

  • Tomorrow can’t come soon enough.

    10p for every goal (20p if it’s a defender)
    10p for every assist
10p for every GK clean sheet

and that’s not even considering the 100% increase in PB and 67% increase in MB.

  • will there be a bounce on Oct 1st when sell queues are dissolved?

  • @chaps1988 imo no, it's actually quite likely that it could cause further drops.although not as severe and widespread

  • @MickTurbo have you managed to get the straw you were drinking your wine from detached from your head yet?
