Do they not teach simple arithmetic anymore?
-
Mind boggling the amount of times this is being seen at the moment......sheeeesh
-
It gets said every thread, but it's entirely possible the Sell Order was placed after the Buy Order
I've both done that a couple of times, and been caught out by it a couple of times already. We really don't need a new thread every time people see it. There's been so many in the last week
-
@MikeyRobb arithmetic has been taken off the curriculum to fit in PC bullshit 👍
-
There’s bound to be a few times where the sell order has been added after the bid.
But I’ve seen plenty of occasions where there is no bid and the lowest offer is X amount. Then when I check back an hour or so later, a bid has appeared
1p below the same lowest offer.I think some people just don’t realise that bids cost 2% and buy nows are commission free.
-
Surely its the sell order placed after the bids ? In which case there is every reason to go a penny higher. Not everyone who bids is constantly watching the spreads I I shouldn't think
-
@Ericali that sentence adds precisely, nothing.
-
I think it’s more people don’t getting it as I have seen it a few times (no more than 5 shares on each case) and took advantage. What a horrible bastard I am for pressing ‘confirm sell’...
-
@NewUser469373 Just like this sentence.
-
@MickBohan this sentence is pretty pointless
-
@AndydfopT Just like most of your points and this sentence.
-
How about this for pointless?
-
Okay, but what’s your point?
-
This is something that a very small mechanic change would fix and would provide a marginal improvement to liquidity.
If buyers had the option for their offers to be automically filled if sellers list within 2% of their price, instead of the current odd looking scenarios repeatedly happening. Allow buyers to pick or not pick this option.
