Share Split
-
So I’m really confused about what will happen in the share split ? Will the majority or people’s portfolios increase in value or decrease ? And will experienced, world class players come out better compared to promising youngsters ?
-
@NewUser287844 should go up. As players will be more affordable. It’s widely thought the expensive players will go up most as they have been out of reach price wise. But they have already gone up a fair bit, so it’s difficult to say. But a share split is a healthy thing to encourage trading. And eventually dividends will go up as well. Which will stimulate the market in a positive way as well. So a lot of ppl will be “stocking up” after the share split in anticipation of the dividend increase.

@Valhalla great stuff thanks for the info

When there is a dividend increase, the players that earn a lot of dividends (Pogba) will probably increase the most rather than the youngsters. Players like Pogba will be effected the most due to the fact he earns the most dividends already and will earn a lot more when the dividend increase happens. Whereas the youngsters will not rise as much because the dividend increase will not effect them as they don't earn many dividends anyway but the youngsters will rise in the split because they seem more affordable so people will buy in anticipation of their future earning dividends.

No worries. With a share split and later dividend increase, it should be an exciting year. Plus they will probably do a 10% bonus at some point. (They give you 10% free money for anything you invest. So if u invest 10k they will give u 1k free ) 😉

@Valhalla I think those days are gone. No way will the new board approve that.
-
I think any deposit bonuses should be reserved for new users only.
Not first deposit as I don’t think you want to be encouraging over-investment in brand new users as it could destroy confidence and enthusiasm while becoming familiar with the platform.
I would do 20% on second deposit (along those lines).

You don’t think they will ever do another deposit bonus? Not so sure about that. It’s an effective tool they can use in a flat market.
-
@Valhalla I think they could possibly do a deposit bonus a week after the SS. What you think? That would be sweet!
-
@Barkez_86 I think they will do it in the quieter months of the summer. The share split will already have a buzz. They have said they won’t do one anytime soon anyway.

I didn't say that. Was referring to your 10% free money comment. There will be some sort of bonus at some point but my prediction is it will be more akin to bookies' promotions (noting the formation of the new board) with a play through requirement.

When is the share split?
-
@Hotspur quite possibly. It’s up to them I guess.
-
@NewUser208571 Next month. There will be a announcement of the structure one week before it becomes to effect.
-
@Clover does it do much difference if you buy shares on a player immediately before the split or after the split ?

It doesn’t make any difference in real terms, it works out exactly the same. However most expect the new lower prices to attract new customers who will be able to buy big players for £5 a share rather than £20. If these lower prices do attract more traders then you should see rises across the board. Top players may see the biggest rise.
-
@NewUser287844 Well yes. Before the split the value of a full share will be immediately higher, than when the split happens after. As all shares value will literally be split to a lower (currently unknown) fraction .
Once the split happens, all invididual shares will be lower in value, so it will allow smaller budgets to invest-especially in higher unattainable players before.
So you got to make decision whether to invest higher now, or wait for the split to happen.
-
@Clover Cheers for the help

@NewUser287844
Not really. Just the fact that if it's a 4 way split then you'll be buying at a quarter of the price. But I would recommend you make your purchases now, based on how you think the market will react post split.

The irony is barring a dividend increase or any moderations to the scoring matrix there would no need for a market reaction to the share split.
