Can only be him or Sterling. Both been phenomenal. Liverpool really need a team trophy as Manchester City just going to keep winning for next few years.

@Lukeroro Well some might argue Sterling, he's been glorious on the pitch all season, I think what probably does it for VVD is the transformation to the whole team, if Sterling wasn't doing it for City then probably someone else would, he's replaceable, VVD is irreplaceable.

As a defender, leader, all round player, he is something else. (Also, note that after being pretty shit for a few years Holland are also in the Nation's League semis, could be a big summer for Virgil!)

Always find it annoying that the awards are before the end of the season.
I'm not saying the winner has to come from the title winners... But the last few games are the most important so a chance for someone to really step up to the plate when needed the most.
Vvd has been best... But sterling a very close second... So if Sterling does an 'AGUEROOOOO!!' moment on the last day, that would have been enough, in my book, to turn it.
But just at principle level more than sterling vs vvd this year... I don't get doing the awards before the end

@Vespasian32 mental isn't it and don't forget although announced today that these things were actually voted on weeks ago hence Pogba is in team of the year?!! How can you decide who the player of the YEAR is before the end of the season?!!

@9stevo there is another award that us given out with a really weird timing on the votes. Can't put my finger on it right now, @Vespasian32 is right and it's always bugged me as well.

@Advinculas-Index I was going to say that too but that's actually a yearly award rather than a season award, it includes all games national and international, so it kinda makes sense, keeps them on their toes too, you need to do it over 2 halves of different seasons 😉
