Nick Pope on his way or not???

  • Burnley decided to collect England goalkeepers for fun last year but it appears Heaton has become the settled no.1 so Joe Hart & Nick Pope might have to move on. Pope is only 27 & now appears back to full fitness so will be looking to play - been rumoured to Chelsea (transfer ban since imposed), Arsenal to replace Cech, Everton to replace Pickford (who was supposed to be replacing De Gea) & Bournemouth (both Boruc & Begovic out of favour).

Is this just his agent trying to push the club for improved terms or is there some substance to it? & where is he likely to go?

I think Gk's in general are undervalued currently & at 28p Pope appears really good value (right age, England prospects, potential move, more VAR penalties to save, MB opened up next season).

  • He signed a contract extension and new pay deal about 18 month's ago and yesterday did the same again keeping him at Burnley until 2024, he's staying at Burnley
