I'm more than happy to point out errors by FI but this isn't one.
They have to draw the line somewhere. Regardless of where this is they wont please all.
I'm not bothered by players randomly appearing throughout the day - largely because the new players don't really interest me at the prices (very few at least).
What is annoying is that FI always seem to move the goalposts when they make changes.
Deliver as advertised like every other company has to.
Penny stocks is essentially the introduction of additional players to the first team 200.
My understanding is that you'll be able to purchase any player from the 'top 5 leagues' (England, France, Spain, Italy, Germany) as well as requesting additions - see separate thread started by @FI_Konrad. Players will be introduced slowly so process will take some time and FI will set the start price of players, which will be different from the 25p promotion players.
The other aspect is that only the top 200 will be eligible for media buzz.
A lot of the current volatility in prices is because of this and the unknown impacts its introduction will have.
My opinion would be that any decent player bought now will make you money eventually - providing you avoid relegation and don't panic sell in a 'crash'.
Finally, I'll caveat all of the above my saying this is my understanding of the impending changes and others might interpret differently.
Hope that helps.
I understand where the question comes from. Personally, I do buy players under the 80p mark but, like any trading, the outturn really depends on who that player is for example, harry Maguire is currently south of 80p but I expect him to rise with England caps and PB. Also, wouldn't be hugely surprised to see one of the bigger clubs come calling in the next year or two, certainly rumours anyway.
That said I bought Kurt Zouma at 58p and he peaked at 70ish during the match against Arsenal last week. As I wasn't monitoring throughout the game I missed my chance and sold at 56p to cut my losses ahead of relegation.
In summary, that's the risk of trading.
Thanks - I didn't realise the conversations weren't monitored. Might explain why a couple of previous queries have never had replies.
I've emailed and asked. I don't have twitter otherwise would have done that for a quicker reply.
Will post details here once I hear.
I know popularity around a future drives price but it would be interesting to know how many futures have to be bought/sold to increase/decrease by each penny I.e. Is it an increase of £0.01 for every 10 shares, every 100, more? Presumably there is a rule FI use?
Also, any idea of how many users are on the FI?
I could see Pope sneaking in the squad. If not for WC then maybe a bit later.
I wont be buying him though. GKs have no value on the index
I think Almiron will kick on. He and Maximin will be huge players next year.
Yeah, infuriating sometimes.
I watched Tomori play CB for Derby at Portman Road last year and he was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch.
Came on here to snap him up and wasn't on the list. I raised his name at the time I believe but he'll now be IPOd at a much higher price.
Guess it would flood the market too much to list everyone though.
As an Ipswich fan, I rate him very highly. He has exceptional vision and can split the defence with ease.
He struggles to impose himself across the full 90 minutes and Ipswich have a wealth of options in his position. Paul Lambert is using a rotation policy this season too meaning he has only had limited time.
Can see him leaving Ipswich at the end of the season and expect a Premier League team who invests in youth to have a punt.
