    • I'm off (for now), thank you to everyone in the forum who has ever answered any questions I have had/advice I wanted

      Hi folks,

Just wanted to make this post as a kind of official signing off from me for Football Index (for now at least, I can't see myself being back here but never say never). Having joined the index 2-3yrs ago, I've seen the platform grow and grow, but now has become something I am no longer a fan of, and the logical thing for me to do is leave and take my money.

After thinking long and hard about what do to with my current situation regarding my portfolio and FI in general, I have decided that this index and platform is no longer what it used to be, and I now no longer enjoy.

My current port for reference sits as Bruno, Kimmich, Foden, Kane and Werner, all sitting at quite a substantial loss. The loss doesn't bother me, I've held many shares in players at a loss before and have no problem with it, but seeing the direction and actions FI are going in and taking, I don't believe in their future vision.

I feel it's a shame it's come to this for me, as I have genuinely enjoyed using the platform for the past 3 years, but as with everything, circumstances and ways of thinking change. I don't plan on selling my holds just yet, why would I at this point when their prices aren't doing anything but go down, so I will wait for a better opportunity to sell at some point in the future, after all, it is a 3yr bet and currently I'm not even halfway through the 3yrs on some of them.

      Take care,
      Andy

Toby will probably edge it now - donated some tablets to Hospitals & nursing homes.

Really disappointed by Bruno’s lack of generosity so far during the crisis - Surely he has something up his sleeve?

He came to England to help a sinking ship try and get top 4. I’d call that pretty generous and I’m a Utd fan

High speed express train heading to Wembley!! 🏟

This is it now, Kane will keep rising and rising heading towards the Euros in the Summer 🚀🚀🚀

Get on board or miss out 💰💰💰

Kane will have a new impetus under Jose and is England’s captain and main goal scorer ⚽️⚽️⚽️

What price will he be come June next year???

I deeply despise these types of posts that contain those stupid rocket emojis. They should honestly just ban that emoji on this forum. Like what was the aim of this comment?

Followed up with another tweet this morning. Knowing the market sentiment at the moment you absolutely don't build something up to be this big without delivering it.

I agree, he’s not stupid - he would’ve been paying close attention to the market and how things have been the past couple weeks, and knows what sort of announcement would change the mood and help the market boom.
It’d be suicide to build up something like a div review only for it then to flop or be something insubstantial. If that were the case a lot of people would take their money and leave for good.

@Zaka_7 said in Rashford is it too late to jump on the train ?:

I hold. He is young exciting and english. Oh and at United so will be a media darling due to constant charity work. He could also be an england euro hero (who knows) PB not great at all but neither is Haaland. I do hope Fernandes has an impact on Rashford Pb but who knows, If the Sancho move happens it could be negative for Rashford but even then he could up his game, it’s all unknowns.
I think as a United fan he is a sentimental hold for me. But definitely on him for long term.

I’ve mentioned this before but I don’t see how Sancho coming to Utd would negatively affect Rashford’s price. If anything Sancho coming to Utd could negatively affect his own price.
If Sancho joins Utd then either

      1. stays classed as a midfielder and has to compete with Bruno for PB
      2. reclassified as a forward and has to compete with Rashford for PB. They’d essentially play on either wing of Martial up front, so in my eyes that’s Rashford going nearer to Sancho’s price or Sancho dropping closer to Rashford’s price

@Splurger_Dan said in Haaland is a gold mine atm opinions??:

Imo he needs to prove his pb game to justify his price or a higher one. The situation in the short term with only German footie on gives him every opportunity but in the longterm with other leagues playing I think he may struggle to win pb.

I agree. If you actually watch him play he’s rarely involved in the build up play, especially when it’s more intricate. He’ll basically need to score at least 2-3 goals to compete with winning top fwd or star man against the likes of Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo.

Not doubting him as a footballer irl, but on here I’m still sceptical as to whether he can sustain his current price. Atm he’s a bit overvalued if you ask me

    • RE: Latuaro Martinez > Timo Werner

@D-man I don’t have a problem with you promoting Martinez or expressing how good a player you think he is. What I do have a gripe with is why start a thread about the player wanting to get other people’s opinions, when all you do is bash it off by saying how good he is/will be when people like @gball1975 @janner73 @ChazFI123 to name a few have given you their honest thoughts. You’ve came into this discussion with your mind already made up and not open to being changed even if people have given logical answers and reasons

    • What are phrases that people hate?

Not having a go at the people who use these phrases, but something about these I just absolutely hate. Thought it would be a fun post to see what people say haha!

I’ll start off with a few I strongly despise

“They’re going to spike in price” (or any use of the word ‘spike’ in general)
“For me they’re a long term hold”
“Media darling” (this one is probably the one I hate the most)
      “PB king”

      Show me what you hate!

EDIT: credit to @howsthebacon i agree, ‘rocket’ is also something that I find very jarring haha

    • Sancho's Price - what will happen?

Just curious what people's opinions are regarding Sancho's price if:

      1. he stays at Dortmund this season
      2. doesn't move to Utd this transfer market now/ever.

Is there any way his price remains £12+ if he doesn't go Utd? Even if he moves to a Madrid/Barca, or even back to prem, I'd be surprised if his price remains this high, considering there's no guarantee he'll take PB by storm in his new environment. Thoughts?

EDIT: Disclaimer I do not own him, just genuinely curious what will happen/what people's plans are that do have him

I’m honestly slightly confused as to why they aren’t eligible for PB. It’s not like there’s any other football going on atm anyway, seems like an easy decision to include them for PB.

Neymar and Kimmich and no one comes close to those 2 imo. Both basically have such high base scores as their game they realistically challenge for divs almost every time they play. Both have earned me just under £100 in PB in just under a week
