Two years today i joined the index and ive loved just about every minute of it.
Happy index day to me😁😁
That is all
Sorry that i appeared to target yourself in the other thread it wasnt my intention as i have stated in other threads you were one of the people i did feel sorry for because for everyone larger holdings are now harder to get rid of and much harder at the lower end of the market.
I wanted to make clear the affects that the over use of IS had on other traders in the past and why we are better off without and i wrongly used you as an example at a time when actually many of your budget trades have been very clever and involved players that had strong intrinsic value.
I was getting really pissed off at the constant moaning from others who seem to never be happy no matter what FI do at the moment even though they have pulled FI through this pandemic relatively unscathed. To your credit you havent been one to overly complain about the new system or about FI you have only expressed your frustrations regarding your personal situation
My belief in what i said still stands but im very sorry i appeared to throw you under the bus to make my point as you were a terrible example. Im sure whichever players you are sitting on will still have the demand you planned for but it may take you a while to drip feed them back to other traders
Good luck resolving your current trading issues and once again I apologise
Joined the football index in October of 2018 and it was two things that led me here. First was i winning bet on skybet, i won just under a £1000 on a weekend accumulator and i was buzzing until i checked my all time profit loss. I was £20 up now on skybet after probably 7 years of gambling, i wasn’t happy. The second thing that led me here was that on that same weekend i had watched a Dortmund game and spotted Jadon Sancho and thought he’s going to be big. On the Sunday of that weekend i was lying in bed thinking i wonder if i can place a bet on a players future so i typed in betting on a players future into google and it came up with football index and buying futures in footballers. I didnt have a clue about financial markets but i thought this could be something id find interesting. Did a tiny bit of reading and then joined in the next day.
I started with £50 bought a few sancho and Kante(like most of us do) and a couple of others. Now when i said i did a tiny bit of reading on it and had no knowledge of financial markets i mean it. I really knew nothing and as i bought one of the players a saw him go up 1p so i sold, then i bought another that did the same and sold again. I then realised 100 shares moved a player a penny so stupidly i started buying and selling and only noticed something was up as my balance crept down. This is when i decided more reading was required and I found out about commission 😂 i had rushed in without any thought.
Now in my own defence theres was very little information available. I dont recall there being an Academy page, the forum was quiet, really quiet you could read every single post from a day within half an hour at bedtime, Twitter was just a place to boast and the only thing i could find was a small tab in the app that said terms and conditions. You couldnt even search online for information as there was so little out there. Upon reading the T&c’s I found out about commission, dividends and a few other essential things but like most at the time i had to spend and potentially lose money to learn.
Later that month the share split was starting to get mentioned and all of a sudden prices started climbing and my trading started making me money, then one day i was sitting at my kids football and got a notification about a deposit bonus, i logged in and players were flying. I thought it over for a few days and decided to go for it. I figured i spent around £2500 per year at the bookies so decided id quit traditional gambling and put a years worth of bets in here via a credit card which was perfectly legal at the time and i had no debt so i just say it as an advance on my betting stakes 😲. I withdrew my £250 bonus and all dividends to pay of the credit card faster and between then and the share split my £2500 portfolio grew to over £4000 despite the fact i was over trading and still didnt really know what i was doing. Then we had IPD’s introduced in that time plus another deposit bonus which i traded and withdrew afterwards which contributed to paying that card off quicker.
After the share split they did a big summer deposit bonus and with all debt paid off i put another £6000 in and thats when i really got into FI properly, making my own decisions instead of just following others and joined index gain to up my research in more depth and then the October crash happened. That was when i learned i couldnt solely trade based on players i liked i had to be ready to adapt with sentiment. I decided at that point to move what i could into big media friendly holds and a week later the dividend review happened and all these players rocketed. Now my trading style depends solely on proven dividend earners and when i get worried sentiment is shifting i have a set group of players i fall back on. That has worked very well and saved me on the approach of COVID as i noticed sentiment starting to drop and the market not growing as it should. During this period times got tough as they did for most so i withdrew some profits a little moreto help with living expenses but i genuinely thought i had FI all figured out and then they introduced Goal keepers and forced me to rethink everything 🤬 and here we are today sitting with a portfolio full of goal keepers
Anyone coming into this platform needs to understand it takes a while to learn the ropes. I probably took longer than most to get to grips with it but the more work you put in the more you get out. Not only has this product saved me from weekly gambling losses ive also made money doing it and im confident i will continue to do so for years to come. The wife even signed up 3 weeks ago and has already made 20% in dividends. Shes only playing with £50 but is also enjoying it wven though she has zero football knowledge 😂
Anyway thats my football journey so far as requested by @Advinculas-Index and i will say an awful lot more has happened in my time here but the post is long enough and i cant be bothered writing anymore 😂
Im not happy. Its basically a 30% increase with one extra days payout a month. If you want to be arsy about it its actually a payout that amounts to one extra gold and one extra silver day a month.
Does anyone really think thats good enough after the FOOTIE has doubled in 12 months and they have opened up MB to all players.
This dividend structure is to be in place for the next 12 months and it isnt even going to satisfy traders for the next 12 days.
I hope they get their act together and rectify this shite
FI were quite right here. Its fine to talk about other platforms but to actively promote and advertise on another priducts forum is a step too far.
Many of you will remember my angry meltdown towards FI and the poor dividend announcement on the 9th of July and then my overhaul of my portfolio to keepers on the 10th. Since then due to the 5x IPDs ive had my best dividend period ever.
Below is my all time dividends over 2years
And this is my haul since the 10th of July
Now I know this is entirely down to the 5x IPDs but i dont think i could of made these returns on any other type of player during this promo (unless id been lucky enough to buy Son) and reasoning being is that i didnt have to chase these IPDs like i may of had to with goal scorers. I could just buy and sit back knowing that the only player in each team that could get the CS IPD was the keeper whereas with outfield players i either have to pay a premium for a prolific goalscorer or pick a random one and hope for the best which could of led to me losing money. The best part of all is that everyone of these keepers were bought with a longterm hold in mind.
Don’t underestimate how good a keeper hold can be
@Fletch exactly mate well said. Id upvote you twice if i could
Im currently making a push in my own personal life to be a more positive and happier person so your request for positivity is welcomed by me. If this forum continues its spiral of negativity im not going to interact as much because none of us need that.
We are a nation of talkers and moaners. We love to complain but not actually do anything, if your problem is with FI take it up with them as it will be more proactive than us all sitting around winding each other up
@johnboywalker very good post which im sure everyone can relate to. Lot of scared traders about but instead of panic fuelling panic they should be looking to folk like yourself for reassurance because the calm heads will be those that prevail. 👍
Last thing ill say on it. When it comes to OBs it’s important you make your own valuations on players, it seem the majority of the community are basing their valuations on other peoples bids and offers because they are still hung up on the way FI used to work.
Once people start thinking for themselves instead of following others then player values will grow to be more reasonable
@Victory im not inclined to post here anymore but your question was brought to my attention. The recent changes have vastly improved things. We can trade in and out of players for big profits in short timescales.
Everyone needs to stop focusing on portfolio values they are just indicators of overall price movements but its just a number on the screen. Market functionality has returned and over time the market will grow.
The depth and freedom of placing offers has made the index functional and profitable again, traders now have to learn how to use it
@Fletch well said fletch. Sad times but we can rise above it all and leave it in the past where a lot of what has ruined a great forum can just simply now be forgotten about 👍
