RE: Overpriced IPO - in the event of zero interest.
I am quite happy that they've massively overcompensated. The loss of a couple of MB wins due to IPOs being too high is nowhere near as bad as the massive crash that would've occurred if they were all too low. Still it is incredibly amateurish how many mistakes there are here. Kolasinac and Hernandez being included are the big ones, but also no indication of what happens to a player if no-one buys him. The announcement also said it was going to mention some updates to the platform, it hasn't!

RE: If you were Adam Cole?
Very important to advertise the sh*t out of the platform during WC. However, they then need to make a lot of improvements to the platform itself as I think it will struggle to handle say a 10x increase in liquidity. For example we used to get paid dividends at 12:30 every night no problem, but now it seems to be 2:00 most nights and sometimes not till like 8. This has to be because of the increasing number of traders. If the number of active traders were to suddenly spike I wonder if they could handle this straight away?
There also needs to be visibility to the sell queue with so many more traders. And I also think they can start to create an order book where you can work to buy/sell above/below the market price.
TL;DR; FI must continually develop the functionality of the platform as liquidity grows -
View the Sell Queue
It's really frustrating when selling to market and not knowing how far away you are from your shares coming to the front of the queue. Would be great if the Sell Queue is visible to everyone who holds shares in the player in question. You'd then be able to make a more informed decision on whether to market sell or instant sell.
Thoughts on this guys? -

@Chicken-Badge For the love of God, use some punctuation!

New Shirt Sponsor
Bristol Rovers have announced that FI are their front of shirt sponsor for next season. Let's hope for a cup run!

RE: Is it Me or is Everything Going Wrong!!Help!!
Completely disagree, I think PB has made prices much more reflective of a player's ability. Surely how a player performs on the pitch should be the most crucial factor in deciding whether you want to hold him? Not them cheating on their wife. PB has brought it back to the football!

RE: Too many European based payers now?
I guess they want to get the European first division players out first as they're the ones who can win PB. I'm actually a fan of it as it's forced me into paying a lot more attention to the foreign leagues. When you've got Sky and BT shoving "the best league in the world" down your throat non stop it can be easy to forget that there's football being played outside England!

This is actually extremely complicated!
I think this new dividend system is exceptionally complicated and ill-thought out and simply serves to highlight that FI are in desperate need of alternative revenue streams.
Just so we're all on the same page this is how I understand this new feature to work;
- You a buy a player who is then eligible for GA (goal + assist) divs for 30 days
- You can buy him at 23:59 on day1 and be eligible for any GA divs attained on day1
- You can sell at 00:00 on day 2 if you wish and be eligible for GA divs attained on day1
- You get paid all your GA divs attained in a calendar month (notice different from day1 - day30) on the 1st of the next month
- Obviously you have to have held the player for the entirety of any given day to be eligible for any GA div attained that day (except day1, discussed above). For example if you sold at 21:30 on day6 then you would only receive GA divs attained from day1 - day5.
OK, so lets give a full example;
- I buy 1 share of 1 player on 16th Jan (this is day1)
- This share is eligible for GA divs until 14th Feb (day30, hopefully my maths is good)
- He scores on 19th Jan, 26th Jan, 2nd Feb and 9th Feb
- However, I sold on 7th Feb
- I receive 4p on 1st Feb (for goals 1 and 2) and 2p on 1st March (for goal 3, nothing received for goal 4 as I wasn't holding at the time)
All this means is we effectively have 2 portfolios now. First is the long term one you already had which is eligible for MB and PB divs, and second is actually a collection of smaller portfolios (could just be 1 player) that is the list of players you bought on any given 'day1', expires after 30 days and is eligible for GA, PB and MB divs!
So... who's confused :P

RE: Is everyone missing a trick?
@Andy-M Especially when you can buy at 23:59 knowing the exact payout. I shall, like IPOs
be giving this a wide berth! -
RE: Is everyone missing a trick?
@Andy-M Well Mike from FI said it on twitter this evening so I'd say that's as good as confirmed
-
RE: Is everyone missing a trick?
@Andy-M You can sell, just have to hold through midnight.

New broadcaster/journalist to join FI
Hopefully you've all seen the market update by now. So who do you think it will be? My initial guess was Martin Tyler but the FI marketing guy said he'll be tweeting and Martin doesn't have twitter so that scuppers that theory! Thoughts?

RE: Neymar
@Joking So many people say this "you can only hold for 3 years" nonsense. The market doesn't care when you bought your shares, it updates the same for shares you bought yesterday as it does for shares you've held for 2 and a half years

Short term traders are good for you
Seen a lot of people getting annoyed by people keep flipping PB players for 2% hits and say things like, 'I can't understand these short term flippers' and, 'I'm holding for the long term as I know they will grow'. Ask yourself this, why will they grow?
If everyone had your plan of just sitting on their players, never adding or selling then the only way a player could grow was from a new user (which admittedly there are a few atm). My point is it's the short term traders that cause the increases in value of players and this volatility creates interest for more short term traders to trade into (and yes, out of) these players.
If there was no volatility then a massive percentage of traders simply wouldn't bother with that player thus limiting his potential rise.
In conclusion, short term traders are good for long term holders as they create the very conditions needed for players to rise.Would be interested in people's thoughts on this :)

RE: Scoring pb
@NewUser157235 The former, so 7 for a successful cross. Similar with passes, a unsuccessful pass is +1 for the pass -3 for the unsuccessful bit resulting in -2

RE: Scoring pb
I don't really think it's viable to change the PB system now as there are too many people that would be affected. A player's value is based off the current rules so there's no way FI could change that in a way that would decrease that player's value. Note this is different to them increasing dividends as this only increases the player's value (the one caveat to this is it potentially decreased MB players' value as they become less popular than PB players).
I think you just have to accept the system and trade accordingly. It's not a perfect system but its by no means a disaster

Been absolutely spanked this morning as reports emerge he is looking to leave after being disappointed in his playing time. What are your thoughts on this? Could be a great time to buy
