I prefer to think of it as being constantly on FI, and then occasionally taking a break to check on my life/eat/work a bit 😂😂

I too joined 6 months ago, and think I’m doing pretty well.
Current investment :36k
Portfolio value :£ 56k
Divs (reinvested) £5k
So probably around a 50% ROI thus far. But as they say it isn’t a real return until you sell up.
Best buys so far
Hazard 900 @ £8.50
Neymar 1200 @ £12.50
Bought 600 CR7 @ £9 and sold @ £12.50
Worst buy was keita who I ended up IS for about £300 loss.
RE: How are the Newbies getting on?
I’m a relatively new user, started 2nd week of April. Have been putting money in at an alarming rate, as I’m finding it a fun way to make some money (and hopefully not lose it).
Have seen a 10% increase in portfolio value in 1 month, and have accumulated approximately 5% of my portfolio value in dividends in 1 month. Obviously heavily invested in the top 2 players mainly. The April mini crash was scary, but thankfully have recovered. A few minor mistakes on the way, but generally in the green so quite happy!
Looking forward to see how the index performs over the next 6 months.
RE: Messi far from finished
IMO a lot of traders (especially those who have only been on the platform for the last few months) aren’t taking into account market cycles.
If you look historically most players get sold off just before the season ends, causing quite the drop in price. from memory (and pre share split prices) April 2018, Messi went from about £9.50 down to £8.50 in a matter of a couple of weeks. By September he up again to £11, and then £14 by December.
His all time high was about £17 the day before the share split, having risen about £2 in a day after scoring a hatrick. Like any other big spike in price there was the invetiable sell off to take profits, which some traders thought was all do with him suddenly becoming “too old” - complete BS. This guy is a pb and Mb machine and will continue to be for the next couple of seasons.
Far too many traders getting scared by what they read on fb/twitter. yes he will drop eventually as he ages but right now is a great time to buy/top up as I reckon he will rise again as we near the start of the new season.
RE: Index footie down?
My two pence-
It’s a “market correction” following 2 deposit bonuses in a short space of time. nothing to do with FI manipulating but a general withdrawal of profits.
The first deposit bonus had everyone wondering if people would take the profit and run after the bonus was paid out - didn’t happen.... bonuses got reinvested.
2 months later another deposit bonus.
I’m guessing a lot of people don’t have £20k spare lying around to make full use of the bonus on offer, and certainly can’t afford to keep it in the index once bonus is paid. Heard about a few people who put their rent money in to get the bonus and withdraw straight away. This is probably happening on a larger scale.
Not worried.... more and more people are signing up, and index is growing. It’s natural to get slight dip periods in trading platform, but this is usually followed by a period of growth. Sit tight and enjoy the ride.... it’s only going up from here.
RE: Pietro Pellegri
Have a look in top 200 and search by his last name - he does show.
Just researched a little more about him and seems like he’s had an impressive start in Serie A before he transferred to Monaco. Hopefully he’ll learn a few things from falcao, and being in a weak league may possibly even get some decent pb scores. Tbh he’s not a dividend player, but I’m sure he’s one for capital appreciation given the way the markets going.
RE: Neymar price?
Neymar price is only gonna be going up for now. Yes if he signs for Barca (that’s a big if) his price will drop slightly but can’t see it dropping more than about 50p. He’ll get that back in divs over the next few months and coupled with some pb wins he’ll keep his top spot on the index.
I hold 4200 of him so I’ve got faith! With no plans to sell. The divs this last week have been awesome!
RE: Advice please
There are data products available (all of which are now paid for I believe), which details previous pb/Mb wins, pb scores etc.
Good value is noirx4 data product at just £1 a month. Message him and he’ll let you know the details
Stick it out, patience is the key. Right now the whole market is stagnant/dropping a little. It’s part of market cycle/people withdrawing becuase they need money for Xmas etc. Hold out until jan and you should see some good rises again.
RE: Starting again. Help?
I would agree with the above , a spread of players Ranging from neymar/Pogba/ronaldo/hazard, some in the £4-6 bracket, then young prospects. It’s the safest strategy.
I’m curious to know who you bought when you first started that lost you so much during a period of exponential growth in the index?
I started in April, and pretty much had 80% in salah and Neymar. A risky strategy but paid off, and even survived the “mini crash” sell off in late April. So difficult to see how you would have lost money, unless it was during the summer chaos?
RE: Leroy Sane
Sane is a awesome player, however on FI great players don’t equate to great investments.
He returned 0 divs last season. He’s one I would consider as a long term hold and he should rise, but not to hazard’s level. I’d say maybe £6-6.50 by end of season if he gets decent game time.
RE: Newbie - help - Firminio
My two pence
The three weeks prior to the season starring saw unprecedented levels of investment into all players, especially off the back of the deposit bonus.
If the players don’t return dividends, some traders will start to sell off, taking the profits, and reinvest in other players who have started well.
There will probably be some volatility over the first few weeks as people set up their portfolio for the season.
Be patient, don’t instant sell, and be comfortable with holding players in the red. They will rise again, and in the meantime can still return divs for you.
RE: What birthday present do you want?
IMO a divs increase is needed in the future. Div yields for premium players is now too low. The massive %increase in IPD at the share split has tipped the balance of FI, now attracting a lot more short term trading patterns. A PB/MB increase would encourage more long term holds, an increase in premium player prices which will help to stretch the market.
I personally wouldn’t want a deposit bonus. Far too much opportunity for traders to get in and out, or even use the opportunity to sell off. Last couple of DBs have often resulted in a very sharp rise, then steady decline back to the initial prices before the DB.
What id like - announce a pb increase for say late January.... allow a steady growth till that point, should also help limit the usual winter sell off.
