Henderson's stats for the first 90 minutes from Super Cup versus Chelsea. Just going to leave this here...
@Dan-The-Man Further, to go back to your conclusion. You say the market drivers are in Henderson's favour.
This is also factually incorrect. If more people backed Henderson than Neymar, we would not see the price differential we do. We see Neymar at £7.03 (at time of writing) because there are enough people buying his futures to drive the price. This is simple stock market knowledge application. The more people buying something, the more that price rises.
Also, as a further note of interest - and I'm not claiming this to be proof of anything, merely that it is interesting - if you Google 'Jordan Henderson' (and it has to be Jordan Henderson as there are other Henderson's and MB specifies the whole name in reports) Google returns 52.6 million results. Googling Neymar returns 289 million results. Make of that what you will.
@Dan-The-Man "In other words, it's perfectly correct to say Henderson was a beneficiary of the PB matrix changes, given that his average has risen by 12.67 point per game."
You are correct, but this statement is irrelevant. It's irrelevant because no one (to my knowledge) would have actually dropped points on the new system. If everyone, or an incredibly large majority, has increased, saying Henderson has increased as a reason to purchase is irrelevant. Henderson has not suddenly gone over the bar from bad PB value to good PB value - the bar has just been moved higher as everyone (or indeed, most) increases along with it.
@Dan-The-Man You say 'significantly more likely to win MB' due to MB now open to everyone. By that argument, so are the other thousands of players on the market? Just because they could theoretically win MB doesn't mean they are statistically more likely too. By that argument, we should invest in the 19, 20p players in there thousands on the off chance one of them might win MB once this year, which you say could happen (Henderson winning one more eg). Another way of looking at that is saying he is less likely to win MB, as he is part of a Liverpool squad that now has Oxlaide and Keita back, who will feature more and therefore likely to feature in the media. England youth will feature in the media for Euros because there are more of them and of a substantial quality, giving Henderson less opportunities to feature.
Be careful not to confuse your opinion with statistical fact - they are not one and the same in this debate.
@BlayneB As I mentioned, the profit/loss on FI is not true profit/loss. If you hold a portfolio of 50+ players, seeing how much you are up at a glance is simply not possible without manually working out the profit from FI less 2%. For one or two players, I agree with you. It gets more complicated tracking larger portfolios!
