@Metropolis now this is what I'm talking about! These are the kind of insights I was looking for.
I am a long term holder, but I reached my personal investment limit a while ago, so am just freeing up some funds to freshen up the portfolio a bit. I've got no specific buys in mind, to be honest, but it will be good to have some balance for a bit to act on new trends - it has been a while since I've been in a position to do that.
If Utd don't start getting decent results soon, the pressures definitely on. The owners won't accept anything less than an improvement on last season. It doesn't matter who the manager is or what his background is, what counts is results, and results haven't been good. Look what happened with Moyes, LVG, Mourinho. Solksjaer is no different to them just because he's a united man. Plus, the fans will only accept poor results for so long before they turn. Same goes with the players, one in particular. I hope I'm wrong, I don't support any Premier League team and am not bashing Utd. Having as many teams as possible challenging for the title is good for the game the way I see it.
@johnboywalker the only thing that does concern me is the length of time this trend/cycle will take.. Obviously people will keep pumping into the index's hottest assets (ignoring those further down) until the share split (March 26th)... Usually trends in various sectors of the market last a month or two.. this would be three/four months of top end heavy buying... which could mean a further 4/5 months after the SS of market settling period extended with the fact that April money will go into UCL players and that May/June/July etc won't have much football in it?
I'm not complaining... But i certainly won't be buying many bottom end players until the Share Split has been done so i'm not sitting their with XXX's of shares that i can't sell!!!
Cool cheers for the tips all! I think with Liverpool's league challenge and AFCON, I've been swayed by Salah but I think I'll live to regret not getting in on Werner so I'm sellnig my de Ligts to fund him (I'm strictly not depositing any more)
@playingcards1 i go on and read alot of club forums and blogs and on roma's there is talk that the club have acknowledged dzekos deteriorating play stat wise and are thinking of buying bellotti to replace him. Most fans think its a non story due to finances and dependant on getting champions lge qualification but they also believe the club are ditching schick so there could be something in it, who knows
