    • RE: Time to give up on Football index?

Time to give up on reading these threads. Christ, if you are leaving, then leave "NewUser 76292854929".

My house is on fire. Im not very happy. Im going to complain loudly on the house fire forum. Get out of the house you say, no not until I've shouted it loudly to everyone - Nobody else has done that yet i imagine (I won't read previous posts to confirm this). My house is still burning down. But at least everyone knows now. Thats what matters.

@JonJak said in Premier League Return?!:

@Leighton I assume that if football does start up again you won't be watching it or will have nothing to do with it in protest

Honestly, i dont think id be that bothered. Its fine. The premiership is a big bag of over hyped wank, and corona has shown that up. If an empty stadium fielding 22 millionaires kicking a ball about in silence brings joy to your life then i hope you are happy. Personally, i'd rather we nipped this virus in the bud first of all and only carried on with normality when its sorted good and proper, rather than putting on a empty joyless show just for the sake of sponsors and tv companies. It really is just a game. Move on.

Sterling. Plenty to come yet. Euros. In every competition. Always guaranteed press coverage. Safe as houses, and frankly theres still room for his price to grow.

@Kanzz said in The matrix is a mess:

He has a great future but he needs to mature more as a player to really have a stronger PB game.
If he does that then hes a diffrent kind of animal.

Have you heard yourself? I'm sure his manager and coaches will be right onto him about that...

"Yeh, was great that Erling mate, but what about your PB scores hey? What the fuck man? We need a different animal - One who scores two goals and sort of passes it about a bit more. Can you do that instead of scoring for fun please?"

      Dear Titanic passengers,

We understand your concerns, we are monitoring the tidal actively and applying lifeboats when necessary as the ocean finds equilibrium. We realise that the Atlantic conditions are challenging and assure you that we are working hard and remain extremely focused on improving our fleet of ships. We are taking onboard all feedback from the Titanic community and we thank you for your continued support, from which, a smooth sailing will emerge.

      Thank you,

    • RE: Why would you sell

Its needs to bottom out soon. Its way to volatile and thats why people are selling as soon as economical to do so.

FI have forgotten their product here. As said, it doesnt recognise or reward actual footballing performances anymore. To me thats a fatal flaw.

But quite why anyone would sell when its like this is beyond me. Just sit on it and wait. Idiots.

    • RE: What would you have FI do?

Honestly they need to do more consultation. Speak to us all regularly - Not just the whales. They are losing the casual users confidence. I suspect most just want a low maintainance bet based on football knowledge, not to check our ports every two seconds to prevent it all disappearing. Not every user wants to know about sell orders or market depth, but they do know about Bruno and Pogba or whoever else they like following.

They need to talk to us all. Urgently They are fast drifting away from their users, and whilst the "product" is great still, and you can bring in all the fancy gizmos and nasdaq tech you want, but if you don't have the (Literal) buy in from your base, then whats the point?

    • "London Time"

Just another gripe about the state of FIs comms. What the fuck is London time when its at home? Is that the same as Manchester time, or should I just know my place and doff my cap to our southern overlords?

(I know its GMT but Greenwich is specific and historic. "London time" however can kiss my northern arse)

    • RE: This new systems rubbish change my mind

This might sound slightly dumb as it has been busy since its launched, but i'd like to see in action when football is fully back and theres games every other day. I think a lot of the sales are people freeing up some real world money much needed in lockdown, and I don't think its a co-incidence that its commission free for two more months as even FI know thats the best way to stimulate an otherwise fairly stagnant market at the moment. Wait for games to return and transfer windows to open and then we can fully judge.

Personally, I remain to be convinced i think - Its clearly an improvement in many ways, but not completely. As others have said its killed the lower end market, which was a large part of the game for many (especially new joiners with limited funds figuring FI out) - We all bought dross when we started on here, but we could shift that dross easily. If you join up and are lumbered with your initial portfolio throughout and cannot sell, you'll be livid.

Would shit out of what? If they wanted a player that badly they should buy them or match an offer, rather than trying to bring them down by bidding 15p. Come on!

    • RE: Cancelling old bids could help the market???

This is a massive issue. If you look at Donyell Malen for example - Good player, scoring, transfer speculation, euros on the way - Hes currently at 81p buy price. Fine.

But look at his bids. Someone has asked for nearly 1200 of him at 15p. Thats a farce and dragging his value down. You just wouldn't operate like that in real life and value anything that way. Your house is worth 100k but Steve over there will buy it for £20, so lets reflect that in your overall market value....

      @NorfolkCanary said in FI Q and A?:

I'm wondering what people are hoping for from a Q&A ? Is there a magic formula for them to make the platform fire on all cylinders rather than spluttering along as it is at the moment. ?

Think of it as akin to Elon Musk tweeting about certain stocks and shares. If FI indicate a particular change or new focus to the platform, its best to get a head start really. What they say matters, which is why the silence stings.

At some point FI will run out road to keep kicking the can down. They need to grab hold of the platform for all our sakes. Start with solid leadership and a clear direction.

    • RE: Quick fix to improve clarity / sentiment?

Yeh, this makes massive sense and is stupidly obvious. It directly affects confidence in the product, and like you say, it serves no purpose at all having unreallistic bids other than to drag all of our port values down.

Try it in a shop in real life and see how far you get. Pack of wotsits please mate, ill have them for 2p. Er, no...

Yes. Its been obvious for some time now. Get on board at their FI induced low now, as they are both widely underpriced currently.

    • RE: So what does FI need to do to improve sentiment?

Bring back IS (Or some makeshift equivalent). People simply don't trust the product enough to invest in mid-low end now for fear of being stuck with a load of deadweights. Give people an out for a while to clear the decks and re-invest (Or cash out for good).

The "product" wasn't ever order books, and they've lost the magic now people need to be experts in trading strategies and portfolio mgmt, rather than just whacking some dosh into Mbappe and watching him rise before cashing out and reinvesting.

Stop overcomplicating it. Keep it simple (And fun). Have you tried explaining FI to people lately, you simply cannot explain it simply and quickly like you used to be able to, and thats the nub of it all for me. The "product" has grown, but its left its user base far behind, and much like empty stadiums in real-life, whats the point of FI if nobody is investing any fresh money into it?

    • RE: Players with cap app potential

Facundo Pellistri - Only IPOed this week. Really impressed at United, and thats the reason why he was loaned out for first team football instantly.

Lots of demand for him according to United gossip, but still very young and untested. Alaves a strange choice, but a good "no pressure" type scenario for him. At his current low price he could go either way, but defo cap app potential if you are happy to hold for another couple of years at least.

Its United innit, that alone means some coverage and interest, and youth is always favoured. Easy hold for me.
