    • This may be worth a read...

A fantastic and insightful take on the current situation. I highly recommend people take time to read some of this.

    • Perspective

Following this announcement, I've seen mostly negativity surrounding it.

I,like a minority, expected not too much from it. When I was seeing cries of 100% and rockets being thrown around, I knew that there would be disappointment.

Many can be short sighted. During a global pandemic, where people have lost jobs and lives, businesses have collapsed, Football Index has shone a light amongst the darkness. 5 place media payouts for over 6 weeks and extension of goal posts helped keep cash flowing in when nothing was moving, anywhere.

Other betting companies, completely idle. What many of you may not understand, is that Football Index is a business, not a free money button. So to expect something which YOU want, and be threatening to leave when it's not gone your way, is not going to pay you any dividends.

For over 2 years now, I've seen great changes, and disappointing changes to the market. But in the end, over time, better things led on from each turning point.

Take a deep breath and reflect on how you view not just this spectacular product we have, but on your ability to stick with it. Because this is a long road we have, and a fruitful one I believe for those who remain proactive, and not reactive.

    • RE: When are prices going to stop crashing?

I understand your frustration, but i'm getting really tired of threads like these.

One after the other about ' when will the drop stop'. Like Millerman said, its a cycle. A 'correction' or even a bearish pattern when comparing to traditional stock markets.

Just buckle up, it'll be fine.

    • RE: Where's this bonus then?

I find it hilarious that people ask for things to not constantly change, screaming about how the 'goalposts constantly change', yet cry out for deposit bonuses or new promotions.

We don't need artificial stabilizers or promotions, we need the market to run it's course in a fully functioning integrated order book platform.

I hope we don't see a bonus. Many are complaining about seeing artificial profits again, yet there's nothing more artificial than a deposit bonus. The huge spike you see at the beginning will follow a huge fall when those bonuses are paid out. It's the last thing we need at the moment.

If you don't want to listen, then don't listen. Further to that, if you don't want to pay, then don't either.

FIG and Figenesis may not be as active here, but they provide free content for those who do not have/use twitter. Whether someone agrees with their content doesn't really matter, it's positive for the platform as it gets people talking.

They put a lot of time into delivering content for others, and so should be respected, irrespective of attempts to pump certain players. This pumping nonsense is ludicrous as it is, every single one of us who have used either the forum/twitter has pumped either directly/indirectly.

I couldn't give a toss if someone boasts about their trades/players, let them do as they wish, as long as it doesn't become overwhelming.

    • RE: Nice to see the market getting back to normal

I like the pricings on majority of the players, no denying that likes of Sancho at £15 and Trent at £10 were just ridiculous.

We've seen a good correction in prices, which will allow for sustained growth going forward, in tandem with current dividend increase and future increases, amongst the overall expansion of the platform.

      Prices now are healthy.

    • Technical analysis

I've recently been using a platform which allows me to use technical analysis to determine my buy, sells and holds. I used to trade FX and now work at a family-office hedge fund, so i'm very much into this kind of stuff.

Anyway, thought i'd share with anyone who's keen on getting their hands dirty with it...especially those who understand the trends and how to read the graphs.

Funadementals- like age, team, position, PB/MB potential will drive probably 60-70% of my decision making, but now this has, and will help in making sure i buy at the right price, and don't get burnt on the way down.

      See below.

Above, the MA theory. 7 day MA crossed the 40 day MA on the 22nd of May. There was also a fairly bullish pattern, with strong buying momentum seen with the blue candlesticks. Despite a lagging indicator, buying in at £6.96 on the 24th May, after i see the cross, would have been a well-timed buy. His price on 1 June rose to £7.58.

Reason i'm sharing is because i've been wanting something like this for some time, and maybe there are many out there who also may want to incorporate this into the trading strategy.

Especially after the NASDAQ implementation, where players will be more liquid and prices more volatile. There's a lot of money to be made, and to be lost! Your moves need to be smarter.

The MA theory, along with others of course, are fairly easy to understand. Do your research, it can make things much more exciting for you by combining both the technical and fundamental.

Anyway, a different kind of post but at least it's not anything to do with negative market sentitment. ;)

Oh yes, Index Price Alerts is the platform. It's all over twitter tbf.

    • RE: Deafening silence....

@NewUser395078 People like you who have absolutely no understanding in what they are invested in, i consider pointless arguments.

' Nobody is interested in investing just for divs'. Every single player on the index, whether they are 10p or £10...their price is predicated on their dividend potential.

So you're crying out for capital appreciation, yet you have no interest/understanding of how that comes about.

    • RE: For those that view FI as an investment platform...

Vanguard trackers are exceptional at generating stable compounded annual returns over a long period of time. I view it as a 6% interest savings account, through my current allocation. But there's risk, you need to reallocate frequently and not panic when markets tumble.

@SDOAFIT yeah I don't hold much cash at the bank. Don't like the idea of a lot of my money sitting idle.

My savings account is basically investment in premium bonds, NS&I. Very easy to withdraw in case of emergency.

@SDOAFIT Would probably look to reallocate cash towards the vanguard trackers. Like you said with the dollar cost averaging, monthly deposits are really powerful on there.

    • For those that view FI as an investment platform...

What % does FI make up of your investment portfolio?

I'm relatively young, with no wife or kids, but do have a Mrs who's fully supportive of it. As a result, most of my money is tied up in FI as more of a riskier asset.

      My current portfolio breakdown:

      Football Index: 60%
Vanguard stocks and shares ISA- ETFs : 30%
      Gold: 10%

Definitely a risky portfolio allocation, but a risk I believe I can afford to take.

Would be interested to see what the rest of your guys' allocation is.
