    • RE: Name an old player and what price theyd be on the index

Beckham would be the index king of index kings. No one from any era would get close.

    • Can't help thinking.....

That alot of people are taking the wrong lesson from CHO's injury.

I didn't get on the CHO train initially because I didn't get in early enough to catch him at a good price. But regardless of the index it's always sad to see players going down with injury.

Some seem to think it shows that the youth trend is a fools game. Which is a silly comparason. Youth is a gamble because your betting based on what they could become. But no one is immune from serious injury. Some MB magnets might have a bit less risk attached, but there isn't a single player on the index who's value wouldn't plummet if they had a serious long term injury.

I think if there is a lesson, it's the importance of diversifying the risk, all eggs in one basket is just 1 small mishap from disaster.

There are pros and cons of investing in young players before they have proven themselves. But CHOs injury shouldn't really change any of those pros or cons.

    • RE: What could a No Deal Brexit do for the index?

@Ericali this might be a strange concept to you, but this isn't about winners and losers, who's right and who's wrong.

It's about people's livelihoods, quality of life, job marketers and access to healthcare.

If we leave and it does turn out to be a worse case scenario, you can't just go back and undo it. You can't re plant the old factories that were moved abborad, or just pop the UKs economical position back to where it was before the vote, or give people back the jobs that don't exist anymore.

If we leave, id much rather be totally wrong.

      @MrWh1te correct.

For all his failings as a president he certainly understands leverage in financial negoriations. And the UK leaving in a no deal brexit means we will have zero leverage at the table with Trump, which is what he wants. Certainly doesn't mean we will get a good deal out of it.

    • RE: Media Mud Pie!

Well as we are traders, not employees with access to data. but I can confirm the following.

You are proposing that dividends be not be paid on none match days appart from 2 in the whole year.

your are proposing to kill off an entire way of earning dividends that many traders find profitable.

you are proposing something that would plummet the value of some of the big guns, and limit the possible long term value of some future stars.

You are proposing something that would make the platform less lucrative and less on non match days.

You are proposing something that traders do not like, which given how a market works does indeed mean the value will go significantly down.

You proposed something that would kill dead the value of any non transfer related media article, including things like breaking into an international team.

You posted something on a forum, supposedly to get opinions of other traders. Some of us have done that, and we have explained the reason for thinking this.

Nowt wrong with throwing ideas around, but if you ask for peoples opinions of a forum, its not cool to call us flipent because you don't like our opinion. Particularly when some of us have explained in detail why we think its a bad idea.

    • RE: What could a No Deal Brexit do for the index?

A fair few people have talked about "scaremongering" like there are not away that.

The £ has dropped, and will continue to do so.

Dozens of companies have already pulled manufacturing out of the UK, leaving thousands of people out of work.

Other big name companies saying they may do the same. Leading to more job losses.

That the people that campaigned brexit, are now giving a totally different narrative of what brexit means.

We have a total clown in charge of the country and a government that's a total shambles.

An opposition with a leader so weak he's not able to do anything to appose the symbolic government.

    • RE: Share split

I can't believe anyone wouldn't of liked it. Even the recent dips from the big boys are small compared to the spikes we saw.

Most people have profited, and the room for future growth is there. What's not to like?

    • Baffled

In the amount of traders still panic selling the big guns at low prices. Even though they will likely go back up before long.

Also baffled by the amount of negativity on Twitter over a short term blip, and how many can't see it's an opportunity to top up on these guys while the price is low.

It's almost as if most traders don't understand how a market works.

@NewUser122021 too high risk for my money. He could well pick up some divs, maybe and is good at the current price if he stays at united. But i think there are similar returns elsewhere alfor much lesser risk.

    • FI reaction tp the crisis.

While stock markets have plunged amd industries have crashed, i think its worth praising how FI have managed to protect the index. Challenging times for most arround the world and they had to make some touch decisions, but i think all things considered yheuvr dealt with it well.

@Moukoko the fear of all games being off is whats causing folk to pull there money out. Inventivising games those same people think are not going to happen isnr going to help. At least not yet.

Increasing divs for media while games are off seems to make sense.

Though when we know cancelled games are back on im sure FI will do something to being punters back

If the index had of been around since the early days of the prem, wjo do you think would be the historic king of the index? Assuming the market stayed a similar size.

For me its Beckham, no one else would get a look in for MB ans his PB wouldn't be bad either.
