With the dust having settled on the pre season hype around Brewster after his scoring spree in friendly matches, I feel there is an opportunity here.
There is a clear gap between 3 of the kids on the fringes of LFC first team.
Brewster 2.17
Elliott 2.10
Jones 1.42
As a Liverpool fan, these prices look lopsided to me and I’ve duly loaded up with 800 shares of Jones.
Curtis Jones always stands out when I see him play, he looked assured and confident when playing in the league cup (scored winning pen against Arsenal in front of the kip) and he is expected to captain the side in LeagueCup QF against Villa (see Neil Jones goal article).
He is playing well in the U23’s as captain of the side and very highly thought of at the club. What’s more he was included in the match day squad in the UCL match against Genk whereas no place for Brewster or Elliott.
Jones appears to be knocking on the door a lot harder than Brewster currently, while Elliott still needs more time to bed in and develop.
I expect some volatility in the coming weeks with a potential loan deal for Brewster in Jan and more chances for minutes in the first team with this relentless schedule coming up.
Now is the dangerous time for all three as they will be expected to deliver on their potential to an extent. How will the market react?
Let’s see.
But I believe Curtis Jones has great chance to climb above the other two in the FI pecking order.
