    • I didn't sign up for this

As some people might know I do like a moan. However people moaning and crying over their current losses and the state of the index is doing my head in. I feel I'm vindicated in moaning when dividends are not paid out on time etc but to moan as they are losing money is an absolute joke.

People must realise this is similar to a real stock market and shares will FALL as well as rise and it's impossible to make money every day and you will experience bad times.

FFS get a grip or leave!!

    • RE: Reality Check

@Fletch I disagree with you on cheap players. For example Jose Fonte who is 36 in December. I bought him at 15 or 16p in the summer even though experienced traders advised me not to. He assisted on the opening day of the season and due to him having Champions League football he peaked at 31p which is 100% profit.

I believe there are a lot of traders on here who don't have lots of money to invest therefore they can't afford the more expensive players who are more likely to win PB's. To suggest only people who have large sums of money on here are the sophisticated traders is quite frankly an insult.

Value can be had at all levels and any player can win PB's though the more expensive are more likely. To say the bonkers part of the index is in cheap players is wrong imo. Again take Fonte as a prime example. He assisted on the opening day and with that you had an instant 6.25% return on your money plus the rise in his price. I could name many cheap defenders I bought during the summer with similar returns.

Again, just because some traders might have more money does not mean they are more sophisticated.

    • RE: Football Index for the rich to get richer?

Wow. Thanks everyone for your responses, just got back from work so sorry I've not replied sooner.

I was very frustrated at the time of the original post due to IPO's and deposit issues. I specifically deposited money today to invest in the IPO's, however FI banking system failed and I had to provide statements showing pending transactions before they would credit my account which took hours and subsequently lost out on IPO's.

Anyway. I have read my post again and would like to apologise for the majority of it as it's not correct. However the system FI use for IPO's are a disgrace. FI are allowing cheats to prosper because there is no way it's humanly possible for people to buy shares so quickly. Something needs to be done about it before IPO's are released in the future.

Just want to make a few things clear. Firstly, I'm not jealous of people investing heavily into players as long as it's done fairly. Secondly, I work for a living so I will sometimes start a thread but not reply straight away.

      Apologies once again.

      Cheers.

    • Top 10 Mids under a £1 aged 26 or under

      0_1581596041949_upload-f3fd9487-f5fe-419c-991d-cc080ad3a73b

I've changed my strategy somewhat and I want players who score and assist on a consistent basis and more importantly I want value! So I have compiled a list of the top 10 midfielders under £1, aged 26 or below who have the best combined g&a record since the start of the 2018/19 season. I've also included their average g&a per game.

When purchasing a player I like to compare like for like as I think this is best way to find real value and to see if players are over/under priced. Obviously you need to take things into consideration like does the player play for a better team, European football and Euro's etc but on the whole I think this can identify an under price player.

I hope this can help some traders and I'm thinking of doing one for strikers. Would anyone be interested?

    • Transfermarkt.co.uk comparable players thread

The purpose of this thread is to identify good value players using trasfermarkt.co.uk comparable player list tool. Please see the link for further details and feel free to add your suggestions to this thread.
      https://forums.footballindex.co.uk/topic/12741/transfermrk-com

Thanks to @MickTurbo for alerting me to this very useful tool. Please be aware further research is required however it will give you some sort of idea what sort of player your investing in. It will also give traders who don't have the money to invest in the top players some cheaper alternatives. It should also give traders an idea if a player is good value based on the comparison.

I want to reiterate these are not pumps they are suggestions purely based on the comparison tool on transfermarkt.com. FURTHER RESEARCH IS REQUIRED on sites like fotmob, whoscored, and sofascore etc etc.

This just gives a clear indication that some players maybe undervalued using the comparison tool.

    • RE: Anyone new to the index? Go with you gut.

People are getting the wrong end of the stick here. My point of opening this thread was not to criticise anyone if anything it was to get people to really believe in their instinct and to encourage people to go with their gut feeling.

I have seen countless threads, mine included asking peoples opinions on their portfolio. In hindsight I wish I hadn't as it's pointless really as @ScouseSte has already stated the obvious reasons.

@johnboywalker Like I have already stated I'm not having a go and the reasons you gave on Kante were and still are 100% accurate imo. So please accept my apologies if you have been offended. That was not my intention.

Obviously players will rise and fall but no one really knows who, this is why we love the index. I'm just encouraging new users to go with their gut feelings on players.

Hope this clarifies the reasoning for this post.

    • RE: Adil Aouchiche

Quite clearly FI are cooking the books. Traders who purchased him whilst the site crashed have not counted towards his true value. This needs to be looked at as it happened with Tanganga. FI are losing credibility by the minute. There is no way on this earth that Adil Aouchiche (French wonderkid) should not be trading well over £2. The only reason he isn't is because of FI fiddling around with numbers.

    • RE: John McGinn

@Wiillaah Why should @Sinex82 word it differently? People are entitled to ask others for opinions and at the end of the day people should do their own research prior to purchasing a player. If they feel it's a pump don't get involved. It's as simple as that.

@Sinex82 has correctly pointed out that is what a forum is all about. Opinions.

    • RE: PL & Permutations

@Ericali There would be nothing stopping them signing a longer contract for another club as they would only only be on a short term contract.

Come on now Eric if this happened in 99 prior to CL final and FA cup being played to stop the historic treble then your opinion would be different.

The season needs to be completed whenever that maybe. You cannot just void a near whole season.

Leeds are paying Bielsa 6m a year? So who refunds them that cost?

    • RE: PL & Permutations

@Ericali Why can't they complete the season in July and play 3 games a week? Have a short pre season and play catch up throughout the new season? With regards to players contracts expiring at the end of June just extend them a month or two .

As a Man Utd I can see why you'd be against this 😂 but too much has been invested on the current season for it to be voided. As a Leeds fan if the season was scrapped Bielsa would be gone and we'd remain in the Championship for another 15 years. Can't happen! Law suits everywhere!
