RE: did i just hear a dividend policy review
They always find a way to pull us back in 😂 good that they are listening to the market but It would be nice if FI could eventually grow into a proactive company rather than a reactive one. Positive news though and will be interesting to see what the actual change is
General consensus about FI?
I've been on here for a good amount of time now, not sure exactly how long if I'm honest but around a year if I had to guess. It seems the platform has changed a lot in that time and I'm not sure whether that is good or bad.
Personally when I first joined I used to get a buzz of excitement researching into players and making my investments. These days however that buzz has kind of gone, I find the market to now be massively unpredictable and the days of finding a good player that was relatively unknown and watching them steadily grow are long gone. It seems we are in a period of volatility that doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.
I'm not sure if FI can or need to do anything to try and calm the market down but I don't think they will regardless as I'm sure the volatility is lining their pockets to no end. However I just wanted to get some other people's views on FI as a product at the moment, do you still enjoy it as much as you used to? Do you enjoy it more and see the volatility as a chance to get in and out and make a quick buck. Or do you enjoy it less and don't find the same level of satisfaction as before? Or maybe something completely different?
RE: The Forum: For medium/long term traders only?
@Vaughany you make some very good points it does seem like none of the short term traders are on the forum or at least not vocal. I suspect though that the majority of them are new and may not even know about the forum though.
It seems that the market is now divided between two categories, the gamblers and the investors. The investors are looking for medium to long term gains and are happy to invest larger sums of money that they hope will steadily grow. The gamblers are looking to invest smaller amounts of money but they are just looking for quick wins and maybe they aren't bothered if they lose out as the alternative is sticking money on an acca or individual bets.
Obvisouly that is just my point of view and my assessment of the current market but I could be wrong Haha. It is yet to be seen whether this is just a phase or not though or maybe the gamblers are here to stay. I think regardless of that you can still trade profitably with the medium to long term in mind you just have to be prepared for a more volatile market.
From my experience this gamblers mentality is new around here and the levels of volatility have increased to never before seen heights as a result. However, once the market and the more experienced traders adjust to this and get used to it I'm sure the gamblers habits will get exploited which may eventually drive them away. Whether that is a good or bad thing though I'm not sure
@Collymore10 people tend to take a short term view of these things for some reason. All it will take is another Man Utd penalty or a particularly good or even a particularly bad performance from Pogba and the media will be all over him again. I think these things go in cycles, at the moment it is Neymar's turn to dominate but Pogba will win his fair share as well
