    • Risk or reward

Is the risk greater that the reward

You have a 30 day period in which your chosen player qualifies for the 2p goal and 0.5p assist dividends, so you do your research and find a player with a good run of fixtures in a PB league, plays in Europe and in the Nations league within those 30 days.

If your research is good and you are in fairly quick on the player you will most probably get some capital appreciation on them with other traders buying a little later than yourself, if you were to sell now is this the only way you could potentially benefit from this?

In them 30 days your player could have 5 goals and 2 assists given you 11p return which is good but it's very unlikely a sub £3 player will produce that kind of form, even the likes of the big boys won't hit that often so taking into account commission I struggle to see which players you can make profit from other than sub £2.

Injuries, what if your player gets injured, the players price will plummet and your purchase for the 30 days ahead are out of the window depending on the length of the injury, it's not like KDB where he will rise as people are looking to the long term. Who is going to buy a injured cheap striker for the long run? Not many.

IMO the best thing to do with this is not change your strategy at all, the MB and PB rewards are far greater and safer to play for than this. If you buy a player and he scores within your 30 day window that's great and lovely added bonus but I don't see the benefits of chasing these dividends.

Long and short of this, buy for the long run, I think it's going to be very hard to make profit within those 30 days if you are to buy and sell. Buy the player and hope he had a good first month after your purchase. Don't sell, invest not gamble.

    • RE: Your Top 5 stars? Your Top 3 Regrets?

Best for me are Pogba (£7.86), Messi (£11.28)and Havertez (£1.95)

Worst for me sold Ronaldo and Salah after the CL final :( bought Ronaldo back only to panic and sell him when the crash happened for Rape issues (Ronaldo is the player I have lost the most with)

I instant sold Zagadou at £0.91 the day before the Dortmund defender got a red card so he got the nod!

And most recently I sold Lookman for around £2.00 so seeing his price now isn't pretty!

We all make mistakes, all part of the fun right?!

    • RE: Steven Berghuis 0.23p !

He's potentially moving to a team still not in PB league, confused as where the value is here? He's 27 and only has a potential couple of games in EL.

Why are people buying here? Looks to me like a DUMP will follow

    • RE: Huddersfield

I am a Huddersfield fan, we have had an awful season but a bit of info for you about possible players below

The Danish Three (Lossl, Zanka & Billing) - have all expressed they are too big for the club and want to leave in the summer (hence why all three was dropped from the team and bench yesterday) I don't think they will play for Town again. Zanka is a good Danish CB with International experience, Lossl is an ok goalkeeper prone to an error and Billing has been one of our better players but very inconsistent, he reminds me of a poor Paul Pogba in how he plays

Kongolo - he is our record signing and was our best player last season when he was on loan, this season he hasn't been great but he's young, good amount of game time for Feyernood and Monaco and played for the Dutch a handful of times, he could move on if the right team come in for him

Mooy - he is too good for Town, it will be a miracle if we keep hold of him, I imagine a mid table Prem side (West Ham, Watford ETC)

Mounie - lacked goals and confidence this season, he was great in the French league before we bought him and scored a good amount of goal, he could return back to France

Grant - I think he will stay, he will be a very good championship player (not IPO'd yet)

    • Where is your money going next? Predict the trend

We should all agree that finding the next trend before other traders is one of the great ways to profit on Football Index. So ask yourself this. What is the next trend?

We have seen a wave of different trends over the last year ranging from several goalkeeper rises to young English talent and so on.

With the share split dust now settled I ask myself where my and other traders money will be going other the next few months and I think it’s the hardest one to call yet.

      A few examples below

Summer transfer rumours - this to me was the most obvious one but with now roughly 900 futures to move a players price had this method taking a turn? We do have increased MB so it will still be a good money making method but the capital won’t be as much. Also a ‘summer MB announcement’ is to be made in a few weeks so will people be holding out for that.

PB players - a nice increase in PB payouts but with the season close to the end will these players see a rise or fall for the new season? Or is money going to go elsewhere over the summer until the season starts.

Youngsters - over the last few months if you was heavily invested in young talent you would have made a killing. Will these players continue to rise when named on the bench, get international calls ups and break into their respective club’s starting 11.

In play dividends - the biggest rise in pay outs was heavily weighted towards IPD but again with the season near the end is this where traders will be putting their money? Will these players prices settle higher with the pay outs so much higher?

MB players - this links to the summer saga but will the media darlings who come in the top 10-15 every day see a rise with season end

A few examples above if I have missed any feel free to add to the list.

As traders if we are to maximise our profits you want to be one step ahead of everyone else so finding the next trend could be very profitable

    • RE: Is Football Index an unhealthy obsession?

When I was trading I had slack notifications, team news, several twitter accounts notified & god knows how many other notifications, I was averaging around 400+ a day to keep on top of my portfolio and maximise profits and avoid any drops I could have potentially missed without these. To add to this Football Index regular changes rules, we had G&A added, a change in the PB matrix, severe deposit bonus and now we have transfer payouts.

To highlight the above in this thread posted nearly a year ago, the rule changing is a huge problem, you cannot invest in something if the rule is to change constantly and affect payouts etc. This has to stop. The next announcement FI make has to be clear.

      • Timeline of events
      • Clarification of rule changes, are they going to keep happening, if so why?
      • Sort out mechanics (This is vital)
      • IPD replacement, is it here to stay?
      • Market Makers, where are they?
      • What will FI be going forward, seems a huge identity crisis at the moment, do they know where they are heading?

I am currently not invested in FI, but I am monitoring daily as prices are low I am keen to jump back in but not until all the above is answered, its too much of a risk for me with how they are handling everything.

The concept is great but the execution is awful.

      Good luck all.

@BMCG I know the returns within the 4 hours would be much greater than most jobs and I totally understand why people did that, it mathematically makes sense if you are quick enough on the IPO. This was just a small point which got me thinking, the main points is the general lifestyle FI gives you

@User2000000 to add to this, I know how to play the IPO game which is still stressful with a smaller timeframe, it fits my lifestyle better rather than having a port.

@Dan-The-Man I reached my goal, I set myself a target for a house move which I achieved so I took the money, it was my exit plan, it’s crucial you have one otherwise what’s the point? You need to enjoy the money you have earned.
