Hi Mike. Bit of a storm Brewing over MB, going to be more and more vocal outrage as one weeks data becomes one month and still it's clear squad players winning MB is far more prevelant than 7%. I've sold my large holdings in Pogba and Neymar based on new info, at considerable expense. But now I have, I can see several issues with the future of the platform. My port was £50k and I've moved from top end players to sub £1.50. If the 'whales' follow suit... Some of these guys have £500,000 +... The IPD/outside pb&mb players will be saturated in the blink of an eye. With the elite players previously having added value for that exclusive shot at MB, 365 days a year, there was a clear growth pattern to the index. This is observed by the youth bubble... The hope that a Haland would move to Utd and sort the goalscorer problem, thus becoming an 'MB beast' is an example. Now its wide open, and PB is already considered something of a lottery... The platform massively favours a scatter gun approach at cheap chancers... Where 1 win is a higher ROI than paying £7 for 10 wins for example. This will affect long term liquidity massively. You've effectively halved the ceiling price for the best holds on the market and opened up added value to the 1000s of previously undesirable players (who were still traded in low volume generating healthy profit I'm sure as no chance of paying out dividends on them). Now it's happened, I feel increasing mb prize money or even places will compound the effect. Without a segregation between elite and cheap the money will always flow to the cheap punt. How about offering 1p prize money daily to the squad players for mb... And 2p daily for the top 200. Creates that focused liquidity again, retains an 'investment' feel to the product... But also adds value and purpose to the rest of the market... Appealing to the masses as well as big budget investors. Regards, Vespasian.

RE: Priority customer support
I dont think it's right. It's apartheid between rich and poor. If they were going to prioritise I'd rather they gave new customers better service... Like for first 3 months you are a priority customer. They are the most at risk of leaving
Official pre-announcement hype, dreams,expectation thread
We typically see a dozen threads within a matter of minutes when a new announcement happens and it dilutes the conversation.
Can we try our best to keep it one place tonight please.
I've set this thread up for that purpose... As of 6pm let's get all our thoughts and reactions in one place
🚀 🚀 🚀 🍻 🍻 🍻 🎉 🎉 🎉
Good luck tonight everyone, let's hope there no can of worms like a Gk category, or 500% ipd rise compare to a 5% pb rise. I think we will all be happy ☺
RE: For any new traders out there just buy pogba
@Mundek this is the argument in a nutshell - I am a huge advocate of Pogba and Neymar. But ive openly stated/advised people on lower budgets not to bother. I know the % can be extrapolated as the same... but in my mind each dividend win has to be directly reinvestable OR withdrawn. So I would be targeting £5-10 for a win as this money, to me, has a tangible worth. Winning 10p is meaningless to me... I cant even buy 1 share in a worthy IPD player for that. But if I win £5+ for every Neymar MB win... this is really worth while.. as I can invest once, then keep recycling the winnings in cheap players. 10 shares @ 50p every couple of days, turning that into 10 shares at 70p becomes really profitable.
With cap ap ONLY you have to keep selling shares to buy or making further deposits. Not everyone can endlessly deposit everytime they want to move into a new IPD striker for example
So yes... I now have 1500 Neymar, 800 Pogba, 1000 rashford and not everyone can afford that in at all, let alone in a diverse port. But that means ill be winning £200-300 this week alone. That buys me 1000 shares in a bonucci or 300-500 shares in the 80-100p category. They will make cap ap and ipd and maybe PB... so my initial outlay on Neymar and Pogba is now creating multiple revenue streams, and multiple players in my port that I could sell to generate more cash.
Just as it isn't a sensible strategy for someone with £40 to buy 5 Pogbas .. its not sensible for someone with £5k plus to buy 20,000 Doherty. It skews the base price of a cheap player too much … too hard to sell... high risk timing it right.
Best day outside of announcements?
Today has been almost a perfect score... 9 strikes and a spare!
Gna for salah, mane, dembele
The £500 cap ap is nicely spread between a pogba/neymar revival at the top end... Havertz, pepe, brewster and Co in the middle bracket and some 🚀 cheapies like Ndiaye.
4 months ago I made a deposit I thought risky at the time of £500 with a hope of doubling it in a year... Now (after several larger deposits) I've made it in a day.
I think this has been my most profitable day outside of an announcement ☺
Any newbies that may have taken some big hits this week... Stick with it... There is money to be made!
RE: Ways to improve FI and attract many more users..
I would start by making a single, double and treble PB days be exactly that so 2p/1p on single day, 4p/2p on double day and 6p/3p on treble day for position/star man splits
Personally I'd always advocate more places than upping the prize money for existing. You can buy a good set of pb players based on data... But on any given day some rat bastard CB scores a brace and gets star man. So annoying! By adding extra places and/or make star man it's own category it adds value to 'pb players'
My idea... Single day pays first place only, double day pays top 2 in each category, treble pays top 3
RE: Football Index for the rich to get richer?
@Martyn-B yeh that fateful Friday night when fat rat raiola made his statement sorted the men from the boys. We didn't quiver at the knees and IS like so many yellow belly lilly livered around us... We took our balls out, nailed them to the mast, topped up willing to go down with the ship! We deserve everything we get for holding/buying pogba.
RE: Football Index for the rich to get richer?
the rich get richer can be true of any investment, bet, market
the phrase is only meaningful when accompanied by 'and the poor get poorer' … and that certainly isn't true of FI
as others say - you can buy who you like and make the same %. It's not a scheme where you get greater benefits by buying memberships etc

RE: Dispelling the Football Index Growth Myth (research heavy)
@Dan-The-Man well the title should be 'not every player will grow with the market'
Nothing about myths?! And dispelling lol... Dillusions of grandure.
You've written a Guardianesque article to essentially, yet again, state something everyone knows and could have been said in a sentence.
RE: Getting married tomorrow: should I check football index? Yes / No - discuss
Don't get married... Makes putting all your money into the index a lot harder... As you won't have any money and they constantly badger on about how much you've put in the index!
RE: Did anyone really want star player to get the biggest dividend increase?
Posted something very similar on a thread yesterday. Generally on a gold day the odds are that one of the big pb players will win it, limiting the pool of players to maybe 20 odd that are likely to win (discounting the random lucky hatrick someone gets).
Would have thought more winners = more happy punters.
This is many people's first thought but it actually works against you. If only 1 player ever won divs... We would all buy and his price would go up and up and we would win divs and cap ap and new people signing up would buy that person...
More winners, more chances of winning etc means diluted money, low yields, low liquidity.
Same with ipos everyone wants them... But only favours the booky... More players competing for the same prizes and the same liquidity. Harms all the open bets.
If pb was tiered... The people punting on cheapies would have even more chance of random wins and the market ceiling wouldn't rise. The increase to star man has added value back to the best of the best... But still a punters chance for that great game a season for a cheap player.
RE: Artificial market?
nout wrong with a bonus - FI have made a killing selling their premium player Neymar for full price and also making a tonne of commission of people selling. And we, the punters, have all made money.
It dipped before... it will dip after.. but as with every other bonus this year the net shift is positive.
If people think the deposit bonus is chaos green lights and rockets... wait until the div increase announcement comes. We don't know when that will be.... but it will be a hell of a lot more of a boost than this has been. It will be like the share split … players will bump 20-50% in minutes.
Enjoy the bonus... hold through the dips that follow … keep making money and then enjoy the div increase.
RE: The only way the top 20 will ever break £10 barrier?
@Carboney I wouldn't do 11 as the classifications get blurred with so many teams playing different formations. But, as I've suggested before, a good idea might be to pay 3 places in each position on treble days, 2 places on double game day and just one place on single game day.
