When I was quite new to the index(still am really) I put a post on titled "sea of red". This was me panicking and not knowing quite what was going on and, of course, the market has blossomed. So I thought I'd try and make amends with this post. To all newbies, try and keep the faith even when it doesn't look good. I just rode the waves and am now seeing the good times, great to see green all over...but I'm not counting my chickens yet cos can easy go both ways I suppose....onwards and upwards

RE: Football Index - a taboo?
My Mrs just glares at me whenever I mention FI. The fact that she has no savings, no pension and no plans doesn't seem to worry her. Got plenty of shoes and handbags though....maybe we can retire to Spain and open a market stall selling "quality" clothing and accessories....oh the dream...

RE: Share split
i can just feel the excitement brewing over the forthcoming share split....just loving it. No matter what anyone's strategy is I hope all benefit and Happy New Year to everybody.

RE: Shift in the market?
Great post and very interesting. I think a lot of unrest stems from people used to gambling and seeing instant return, so when a player drops it's almost like a loss. This isn't the case of course and I love the fact that my "bet" is still going. I still get the buzz of seeing players go up in value and I've had far more enjoyment than my normal betfair, skybet, etc. wagers, which pay off rarely and once it's gone, it's gone. I hope the index keeps going onto bigger and better things and also hope I'm one of the initial investors and there's loads more to come. Love the forum and think this will increase in user numbers also as there's loads of well meaning users on here and as mentioned previously somewhere we're all in it together and success hopefully breeds success....by the way I have no futures in Success....onwards and upwards

RE: Summer transfer thread
@howsthebacon Can't help but reply. I guess I'm a "downbeat" fan, but it's hard to keep the faith with the fat controller in charge. I agree FI has finally got it's act together unlike our lot, but this and the mackems sorry state keeps me happy.

RE: The Longstaff bros,Newcastle Utd
@howsthebacon Agreed, especially with the pessimism bit, the whole team is sh1t imo and relegation looks more probable than possible. Only ASM worth a light.

RE: Football index hypocrisy - MB v PB - why?
Upvoted because its the best read I've had for ages, great points on both sides.

RE: quick question
@NewUser137836 Not that I can see. Also once you have a player up for sale then you can't see his buy AND sell price in your portfolio. Is there anyway to do this other than searching for each individual player to see how they currently stand?

Looking at replies so far, I hold Edwards and Almada for precisely this reason.
